I'm kinda surprised that people are prioritizing making a purchase over actually owning something new this Diwali
. I mean, sure, $1,440 for 10 grams is crazy, and if you're gonna spend that much, at least get somethin' you'll wear, right? But instead, folks are stockpilin' gold like it's goin' outta style
. And those jewellers, they're clever, adaptin' to the demand by designin' pieces with less gold and makin' 'em look all fancy
.
It's interesting how Indians see gold as an investment opportunity more than just a luxury item
. I mean, it makes sense, given the country's history and culture around gold. And with households holdin' so much gold (like $3.8 trillion, whoa!), it's gotta be seen as somethin' that provides stability and support for the economy
.
I'm not sure if this trend is gonna continue after Diwali, though
. Maybe people'll get a little tired of stockpilin' gold or just wanna spend their money on actual things they can use. But for now, it's fun to watch the market go crazy
.
