Andrew Cuomo, the former New York Governor and mayoral candidate, has been warning voters about the dangers of socialism in the city. He believes that socialist policies could be the "death knell" for New York City, driving businesses out and threatening public safety.

Cuomo's comments come as he is running against Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa in a three-way mayoral race. Cuomo has been positioning himself as a counter to socialist policies, vowing to restore public safety and rebuild trust with businesses.

The former governor cited the canceled Amazon headquarters project, which socialists allegedly stopped, as an example of how socialism is driving businesses out of the city. He argued that this would have brought 25,000 jobs to the city, but instead, it has been a significant blow to the local economy.

Cuomo also criticized what he called the far-left's "anti-police" agenda, saying it has led to increased crime and fewer officers on the streets. In contrast, he promised to add 5,000 officers if elected, pledging to improve public safety in New York City.

Appealing to Republican and moderate voters, Cuomo stressed that his campaign is about "saving" New York City from ideological extremes. He emphasized the importance of business and entrepreneurs in driving growth and opportunity in the city.

Cuomo's comments have been interpreted as an attempt to win over Republican and moderate voters who may be concerned about the impact of socialism on the city's economy and public safety. However, his campaign has also drawn criticism from some Democrats who see him as trying to co-opt their base by running as a centrist Democrat rather than a traditional liberal.

As the mayoral election approaches, Cuomo's stance on socialism is likely to be an important issue for voters. His warnings about the dangers of socialism and his promises to restore public safety and rebuild trust with businesses are sure to resonate with many New Yorkers who are concerned about the direction of the city under Mamdani or Sliwa.

I JUST DON'T GET WHY ANDREW CUOMO IS BEING SO CARBONATED ABOUT SOCIALISM!!! IT SEEMS LIKE HE'S TRYING TO SCARE PEOPLE INTO VOTING FOR HIM BY TALKING ABOUT "IDEOLOGICAL EXTREMES" AND "FAR-LEFT AGENDAS". NEWSFLASH, ANDY: SOCIALISM ISN'T ALL BAD, GUYS! IT'S NOT LIKE THE AMAZON HEADQUARTERS PROJECT WAS GONNA BE SOME KIND OF SAVIOR COME TO NEW YORK CITY OR SOMETHING 🤣. IT JUST WENT THROUGH WITH PLANS AS PLEASANTLY. AND AS FOR THE 5,000 OFFICER PROMISE, THAT SEEMS LIKE A BUNCH OF HOT AIR TO ME. WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON HERE IS CUOMO TRYING TO WIN OVER REPUBLICAN VOTERS BY PLAYING THE "CENTRIST DEMOCRAT" CARD 🤑. I GUESS ONLY TIME WILL TELL IF HIS STRATEGY WILLS PAY OFF!

😊🤔 I'm not buying into Cuomo's anti-socialist vibe just yet... I mean, what really went down with Amazon HQ? Was it really socialism that killed the deal 🤑. And 5,000 new cops on the streets sounds like a nice gesture, but how's he planning to fund that? 💸 Plus, isn't a little bit of socialist ideology actually needed to balance out the greed of big corporations? 🤝 I'm still torn between Cuomo and Mamdani... Sliwa just seems too extreme for my taste 😅. Can we really have a mayoral election without someone talking about universal healthcare? 💊

You know, it's crazy how politics can be so divisive... 🤯 like, we're all just trying to make a living and live our best lives, but then you got these big labels like socialist or capitalist that come with all this baggage... it feels like we're being forced into these binary choices when really, what's the point of it all? Is it just about the Benjamins 💸 or is it about creating a society where everyone can thrive? Cuomo's stance on socialism seems to be all about appealing to people's fears and anxieties... but what if he's just perpetuating the same cycle of fear-mongering that Mamdani and Sliwa are doing too? 🤔 I mean, can't we try to have a more nuanced conversation about how we want to build this city? Shouldn't we be focusing on the people, not just the politics?

omg i cant believe cuomo is using amazon as an example he was in charge back in 2012 when they were considering moving their HQ to nyc remember how excited everyone was?! it was a huge deal for the city and all those jobs wouldve been a game changer... instead now its just a memory cuz of his gov policies 🤦‍♂️. and yeah adding more cops is def not gonna solve the crime problem we need real solutions like community programs and mental health services 💡

I gotta say, Andrew Cuomo's socialist scare tactics are pretty weak sauce 🤔. I mean, come on, a canceled Amazon HQ project? That's not exactly socialism, that's just good old-fashioned business decision-making 📈. And let's be real, 25,000 jobs isn't going to magically appear out of thin air... or in this case, Cuomo's campaign promises 😂.

And what's with the anti-police agenda? I'm no fan of police brutality, but Cuomo's solution is just to add more cops without addressing the root issues 🚔. That's not a plan, that's just throwing money at problems without thinking them through 💸.

I think Cuomo's trying to win over Republicans and moderate Dems by playing it safe, but it's gonna backfire when voters see right through his centrist BS 👀. New Yorkers deserve better than some politician trying to co-opt the left and right wings... we need real change, not just empty promises 🤷‍♂️

🤔 I don't know about Cuomo's stance on socialism, but I do think it's interesting how he's framing the issues like public safety and business growth as if they're being driven by socialist policies... Meanwhile, hasn't NYC been losing jobs to other cities for years? Like, what's the real issue here? 🤷‍♂️ And can we talk about how Cuomo's whole "saving" NYC from ideological extremes vibe feels kinda like a generic campaign slogan? 😒 I mean, can't he just be honest with us about his policies and goals? 💬

just looked at some stats on NY City's economic growth since 2019... 📈 it's actually been steady, not dramatic changes like Cuomo is trying to make you think 🤦‍♂️. Amazon HQ was indeed cancelled but that's because the city couldn't meet their requirements 🚫. and let's be real, 25k jobs might sound good but what about the cost of living? 💸 NYC's still one of the most expensive cities in the US 🏙️. btw, crime rates have been declining since 2015 📊 (source: NYPD stats). and did you know that Cuomo's promise to add 5000 officers will actually cost around $4 billion 💸 (source: NYC budget). not sure if Cuomo is being truthful about this one 😐

I'm low-key skeptical about Cuomo's stance on socialism 🤔. Like, is he really that worried about Amazon coming in? I think it's a pretty obvious ploy to get voters' attention and make him seem like a "savior" for the city. And what's with all this drama over 25,000 jobs? That number's already been debunked, fam 😂. It's just a way for him to flex his governor muscles and prove he's still got it.

And let's be real, the whole "anti-police" thing is a major red flag 🔴. I'm not saying socialists are perfect, but Cuomo's demonizing an entire ideology without actually understanding it? That's some weak sauce, if you ask me 🤷‍♀️. And what about all the cities that have successfully implemented socialist policies and seen actual progress? Like, Baltimore or Oakland? 🤔

ugh this is getting so old... people like cuomo who have no idea what they're talking about just throwing around socialism like it's the devil himself . amazon was cancelled due to lack of funding and poor planning btw not some socialist conspiracy . and as for public safety , we need more community policing and less guns in our streets not more cops on paper .

and omg can't believe he's trying to appeal to republicans with this anti-socialist rhetoric . like what's next , him kissing up to billionaires or something . cuomo is supposed to be a progressive but his stance on this is just weak . mamdani and sliwa are both doing way better than him if you ask me 🤦‍♂️

📊 so Cuomo's trying to frame socialism as a bad thing for NYC 🤔, citing the canceled Amazon HQ project as an example... but what if that was actually a win for the city? 🤑 think about it, 25k jobs and all that economic activity would've been a huge boost 💸. instead we got nothing 😐. meanwhile he's promising to add 5k cops, which is just gonna lead to more militarization of our streets 🚔. and what about the cost of all those new officers? how's he planning on paying for it? 💸 also, Cuomo's trying to position himself as a moderate... but isn't that just code for "I'm a capitalist at heart" 💰? 📊

omg u guys i just can't even right now i'm so done with politics lol but seriously though cuomo's comments about socialism got me thinking like if he's gonna promise 5k more cops on the streets and restore public safety that's cool but what about the fact that his ex wife kirsten neilsen is like super rich and she just happens to be a major donor to his campaign idk man it feels like he's trying too hard to win over voters rn

😊 I think its kinda weird that Cuomo is freaking out about socialism like its gonna destroy NYC. I mean, isnt NY all about freedom and stuff? What if a lil socialist vibe actually makes life better for peeps? 🤔 And why is everyone so scared of Amazon not coming here? 25k jobs? 🤑 That sounds awesome! But on the other hand, Cuomo's promises to add more cops does sound pretty appealing. 💖 I guess what im trying to say is that theres no clear winner here and its all about what your personal values are 😊

omg, gotta say i'm lowkey loving cuomo's new stance on socialist policies 🤔💡 he's like, speaking truth to power and warning voters about the dangers of socialism in nyc 🚨💸 25k jobs would've been a game changer for the city, and it's sad that amazon walked away 🤕 but hey, at least cuomo's not afraid to take on the far-left's "anti-police" agenda 🚔💥 adding 5000 officers on the streets is like, music to my ears 🎵👮‍♂️ lets hope he can deliver on those promises and bring back some business confidence 💼📈
