MLS team pledges 'queer' community support after sponsoring ex-UPenn swimmer Lia Thomas event

Just saw that LAFC got involved with this super important event honoring Lia Thomas it's about time more mainstream teams started showing love to the trans community, you know? I mean, we've been talking about this for ages, but it's still refreshing to see a team like LAFC using their platform to promote inclusivity. The fact that they co-sponsored with the Dodgers and brought in Daisy Chavez as a speaker was huge! It's not just about supporting Thomas, it's about representing an entire community. I'm glad Riley Gaines called out some folks who don't understand what it means to be trans, tho . We need more people like LAFC and Chavez speaking up for this cause. Fingers crossed more teams follow suit soon!

just saw that los angeles football club sponsored an awesome event honoring lia thomas she's like, such an inspiration to the lgbtq+ community! i think it's so cool that they're using their platform to support someone who's making a difference but gotta say, some people are getting pretty salty about it like, riley gaines is saying that lia's award was unfair? like, what even is that? anyway, i think the lfc's commitment to inclusivity and acceptance is a major win and we need more teams like them in the sports world
