Netflix's 'Nobody Wants This' is the Rare RomCom Breakthrough We've Been Waiting For

A year after its surprise release, Adam Brody and Kristen Bell's heart-wrenching love story continues to captivate audiences with its authentic portrayal of modern dating, faith, and family. The show's ability to evoke genuine longing in viewers has been likened to the classic romcoms of the past, sparking a renewed interest in this genre.

Creator Erin Foster's personal experience of converting to Judaism for her husband inspired the show, which tackles complex themes with humor and sensitivity. Brody and Bell's undeniable chemistry is matched only by their characters' relatable flaws, making it easy to become invested in Noah and Joanne's journey.

As they navigate their differences - Noah's dream job as a rabbi and Joanne's desire for stability - the show expertly crafts tension without relying on contrived plot twists. The supporting cast is equally impressive, with standout performances from Justine Lupe as Joanne's sister Morgan and Timothy Simons as Noah's brother Sasha.

The show's success is all the more remarkable given its slow-burning pace, which may appeal to viewers looking for a change of pace in an era dominated by fast-paced content. Netflix has wisely chosen not to spoil any major plot points, instead opting for secrecy that only adds to the anticipation.

The second season promises to deliver even more surprises, including the arrival of new characters and unexpected twists. With its talented cast, witty writing, and authentic portrayal of relationships, 'Nobody Wants This' is poised to become a modern classic in the romcom genre. As it continues to explore the complexities of love, faith, and family, viewers will be eagerly awaiting the next installment of this captivating series.

Omg I'm so obsessed with this show!!! 🤩 I loved how real and relatable it was - we've all been there with the ups and downs of dating and relationships, right? 😂 And Adam & Kristen's chemistry is everything! Their characters' flaws made me laugh and cry at the same time... what a perfect combo. 💕 I also love how the show tackles tough topics like faith and family without being preachy or heavy-handed. It's just so well-written and acted - can't wait for season 2! 😍

🌟 I'm so stoked about this show! Adam Brody and Kristen Bell's chemistry on screen is EVERYTHING 💕. The way they bring Noah and Joanne's characters to life with their flaws and relatable struggles has me hooked 😂. I love how the creator drew from her own experiences to make it authentic and real 🙏. And the supporting cast? Wow, Justine Lupe as Morgan is giving me LIFE 👯‍♀️! The pacing might be slow for some, but trust me, it's like a breath of fresh air in an era of fast-paced content 🌊. Can't wait for Season 2 and all the surprises that come with it! 💥

OMG 🤩 I'm so glad Netflix dropped another amazing show! 'Nobody Wants This' is literally the perfect break from all the drama we usually get on other romcoms... it's like a breath of fresh air 💨 The lead actors, Adam Brody and Kristen Bell, they're just meant to be together on screen 😍 their chemistry is REAL. And I love how the show tackles real-life issues with humor and heart ❤️ It's not your typical sappy romcom, you know? The creator Erin Foster's personal story behind it really adds depth to the show. Can't wait for season 2 🤞

OMG u guys i just binged the 2nd season of 'Nobody Wants This' 🤩📺 and i am HOOKED!!! Adam & Kristen's chemistry is REAL 💘 and Erin Foster's writing skills are on point! The way they tackle real issues like faith, family & relationships with humor & sensitivity is EVERYTHING 😂. I love how the show takes its time building up to the plot twists 🤯. And can we talk about the cast? Justine Lupe's Morgan is EVERYTHING 🙌 and Timothy Simons' Sasha is my spirit animal lol 🤣. Netflix is on point for not giving away spoilers & keeping us on the edge of our seats 🤔. The 2nd season has even more surprises in store & i am SO here for it!!!

I'm loving how refreshing 'Nobody Wants This' is - it's like we're finally getting some real romcoms on Netflix 🙌. I mean, Adam Brody and Kristen Bell's chemistry is undeniable, but what really gets me is how authentic the show feels. It's not just a sappy love story, it tackles real issues like family expectations and personal growth. Erin Foster's behind-the-scenes inspiration is also super cool - it shows that creators can come from a place of personal experience to create something amazing 💡. The supporting cast is also on point 🤩, I'm obsessed with Justine Lupe's character Morgan! One thing that keeps me guessing is the pacing - I know some people might find it slow, but for me, that's part of the charm 😏. Can't wait to see what season 2 has in store!

I'm not convinced about all this hype around "Nobody Wants This". I mean, it's a nice show, don't get me wrong, but is it really breaking through the romcom genre? Has anyone actually seen enough other shows to compare it to?

And what's with the slow-burning pace? Isn't that just a euphemism for "we couldn't be bothered to come up with more exciting plot twists"? I need some concrete evidence that this show is doing something different. I'm not buying it just because it's got Adam Brody and Kristen Bell in it.

I also wonder what the creator, Erin Foster, actually thinks about the portrayal of faith in the show. Is she genuinely reflecting on her personal experiences or is she just cashing in on her conversion story? More info, please!

And don't even get me started on the "surprises" coming up in season 2... I'm calling BS if Netflix starts spewing out false teasers to keep us hooked. Give me some actual plot points and I might consider tuning in 😐

man, have you ever noticed how our society's obsession with instant gratification can actually make us miss out on the beauty of slow-burning connections? like, we're always being told to binge-watch the latest show or stream the newest movie, but sometimes I think we need to take a step back and let things unfold at their own pace 🤔. that's what makes 'Nobody Wants This' so refreshing - it's not afraid to take its time and let the characters' flaws and quirks shine through 💕. and can you believe Erin Foster drew from her own personal experience of converting to Judaism? talk about authentic storytelling 🙏.

I'm so curious about how they manage to make this show feel both super authentic and funny at the same time! Like, I get that Noah's trying to pursue his dream job as a rabbi, but also he's got some pretty big flaws too 🤔. And Joanne's just trying to keep it real with her family, but also she's got some major doubts about their relationship. It's like, can they make this work? I'm totally hooked on finding out! 😂

I'm not buying it... 😒 I mean, I get that people are finally vibing with romcoms again, but is 'Nobody Wants This' really the game-changer everyone's making it out to be? 🤔 It just seems like another show about two people navigating their differences in a relationship. Don't get me wrong, Adam Brody and Kristen Bell are great, but I've seen plenty of other shows that explored similar themes without all the fuss. Plus, I'm not sold on the slow-burning pace thing... isn't that just code for "we're going to drag this out for 10 episodes"? 📺 Can we get a more concrete reason why everyone's so obsessed with this show? 🤷‍♀️

Ugh, congrats on finally finding a decent romcom that doesn't make you roll your eyes, I guess 🙄. I mean, who wouldn't want to watch a show about someone converting to Judaism? Sounds like a real relatable experience for most people... NOT 🤣. On the bright side, Adam Brody and Kristen Bell do have some chemistry going on, but let's not get too excited here, it's still just a romcom 😒. And the slow-burning pace? Yeah, because what we really need is more shows that make us wait for months to find out what happens next 🤯. At least the supporting cast is pretty good, I'll give them that 👍.

omg I'm SO down for a good romcom! "Nobody Wants This" has been on my radar since day 1 & I'm so glad someone's giving it some love 🙌 Adam Brody & Kristen Bell are literally meant to be, their chemistry is REAL 💕 but what I'm really loving about this show is how it tackles real issues like faith & family without being preachy or cheesy. And that slow-burning pace? Perfect for me after a day of scrolling through socials 📱! Can't wait for the next season, new characters & twists are always a good thing 😂

I mean, I think some people are still gonna say that rom-coms are so cheesy but honestly, 'Nobody Wants This' is proof that when done right, they can be super relatable & authentic 🤷‍♀️. Like, who hasn't struggled with faith & family expectations, right? And the slow burn pace isn't gonna kill anyone... I've binge-watched it in 2 days and I'm still reeling from all the feels 💔. Adam Brody & Kristen Bell are a match made in heaven, tbh! 🤩 The writing is witty & clever, not just some formulaic rom-com nonsense. And the cast? Yaaas, Justine Lupe is stealing every scene she's in 👀. Season 2 better deliver... I'm already counting down the days until it drops 🎉
