Native American Singer-Songwriter Ken Pomeroy Brings Country Vibes to 'Saturday Sessions'

On Saturday Night Live's "Weekend Update" series, a talented young singer-songwriter from the Cherokee Nation took center stage. 23-year-old Ken Pomeroy, who began writing songs at just 11 years old and released her debut album by age 15, showcased her country-infused sound in a special performance of her sophomore album track "Flannel Cowboy".

The poignant lyrics, coupled with Pomeroy's soulful voice, resonated deeply with the audience. As a member of the Cherokee Nation, Pomeroy drew upon her heritage to craft songs that not only tell stories but also serve as a testament to the struggles and triumphs faced by Native American communities.

With "Flannel Cowboy", Pomeroy's passion for songwriting shines through, as she weaves a narrative of heartache, resilience, and the enduring power of tradition. The performance was met with applause from the audience, who were clearly captivated by her talent and authenticity.

I'm loving this young lady's vibe 💕🎸! Her country sound is super catchy and relatable. I mean, have you seen her performance on SNL? 🤩 She totally brought the house down with that soulful voice of hers! But what really got me was how she drew from her Native American roots to create this beautiful music. It's like she's telling our stories through song, and it's so powerful 💥. I'm all about supporting artists who are true to themselves and their culture, you know? 🤗

I gotta say, I'm kinda underwhelmed by Ken Pomeroy's "Flannel Cowboy" vibes 🤔... I mean, how original is a country singer-songwriter from the Cherokee Nation? It feels like every other artist trying to tap into Native American culture for their next big thing 💸. And don't get me wrong, she's got talent and all that, but it's not like she's bringing anything truly new to the table 🎶... plus, flannel cowboy just sounds like a stereotype 😒...

I'm loving this new sound I'm hearing in country music, you know? It's like they're finally giving voice to the stories that need to be told 🎸. I mean, Ken Pomeroy's got this raw energy and emotion that just draws you in. Her songwriting is so personal, it feels like she's singing directly to your soul 💔. And I love how she's drawing from her Native American heritage - it's about time we're seeing more representation in music 🌎. The fact that she was able to connect with the audience on such a deep level just speaks volumes about her talent and authenticity ⚡️. Have you guys been listening to much country music lately?

Just watched Ken Pomeroy kill it on SNL's Weekend Update 🤩! Her country vibes are so fresh and unique. I love how she incorporated her Native American roots into her music - it's such an important story to share. The way she poured her heart into "Flannel Cowboy" is truly inspiring... the girl's got talent pouring out of every pore 💪! Can't wait to check out her whole discography 🎵

OMG, I'm so glad they finally found someone who can sing about feeling like an outsider without sounding like they're making fun of themselves lol. Ken Pomeroy's songwriting is actually really relatable, you know? It's like she took all the feelings of being a 'flannel cowboy' (which sounds SO 90s btw) and turned them into this beautiful country-pop anthem. I'm not even mad that she's getting all these accolades for being the first Native American singer-songwriter on SNL - it's about time, tbh
