Finland's President Alexander Stubb has revealed that the only person who can force Russia's Vladimir Putin to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine is US President Donald Trump.

Stubb made this statement during a BBC Radio 4 interview, which came ahead of Trump's meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Friday. In the conversation, Stubb told Trump: "I think we can end this war with your help". This assertion was seen as significant because it suggests that Finland believes the US is in a unique position to force Russia into negotiations.

Trump said during the interview that Putin wants to put an end to the conflict and that he also thinks peace should be achieved. He further added, "I think President Zelensky wants to get it ended. Now we have to get it done."

The US leader stated that if Russia was unwilling to negotiate without the presence of Ukraine on the negotiating table, then it would be unproductive. The discussion centered around various options for ending the war and securing peace between Ukraine and Russia.

Stubb pointed out that the only person who could force Putin to attend negotiations is a US president, according to him. Trump will use this leverage to achieve his goal of bringing an end to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

lol trump thinks he's some kinda hero now 🀣 like he's gonna just waltz into Kiev and get putin to sit down and talk about peace or whatever πŸ™„ and honestly, who exactly does finland think is more powerful than everyone else? πŸ˜’ newsflash: usa isn't always the savior in every situation, sometimes you gotta let countries sort their own stuff out πŸ’β€β™€οΈ

I'm not sure if I fully buy into Finland's assertion that Donald Trump has the magic power to make Vladimir Putin negotiate an end to the war πŸ€”. It does seem like a pretty bold claim, and I wonder what exactly Stubb thinks makes the US so uniquely positioned to force Russia into talks. Is it just because of America's economic clout or something more complex?

On one hand, it's hard to deny that Trump has been able to get his way in some pretty contentious situations, from withdrawing from international agreements to negotiating with world leaders who might otherwise be wary of him. So maybe there is some truth to Stubb's assertion? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

But on the other hand, isn't it a bit simplistic to think that one person can just "force" another leader into negotiations? Doesn't diplomacy usually involve more give-and-take and compromise than that? Maybe Trump will be able to bring some much-needed momentum to peace talks, but I'm not convinced he's got this magic power thing down pat 😊.

Wow 😱 Finland's President Alexander Stubb thinks US President Donald Trump has some magic power to make Vladimir Putin talk πŸ€” Interesting that they're putting all their eggs in one basket on Trump, though! USA is already super involved in this whole Russia-Ukraine thing πŸ’Έ Trump's got a point about Ukraine needing to be at the negotiating table tho πŸ‘Š

come on guys... how about we stop throwing blame and try to find solutions? I mean, Trump wants peace but what's the plan here? we need some solid strategy not just empty words from a leader who's got history of making enemies πŸ€”πŸ’‘

πŸ€” I think this whole thing sounds like a recipe for disaster... Like what makes Finland and the US think that one guy (no offense Donald) can just magically make Putin fold? πŸ€‘ Newsflash: international politics is way more complicated than that! 🌎 Russia's got its own interests and concerns, not just Ukraine. And what about all the other countries in Eastern Europe that are getting caught in the middle? We need a more cohesive global approach to solve this mess, not just relying on one guy's charm 😊

Yeah I guess the whole world relies on Trump's super diplomatic skills now πŸ™„. Like, who wouldn't trust a guy known for tweeting inflammatory stuff about nuclear war? πŸ˜’ It's not like Finland thinks Russia is just gonna magically change its mind or anything... but hey, if a US president says so, it must be true πŸ’β€β™€οΈ. I'm sure Ukraine is super stoked to have Trump's "expert" advice on ending the war πŸ€”. And what's with Stubb saying that Trump is the only one who can force Putin into negotiations? Like, didn't Finland think this through or something? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Ugh, this is so frustrating 🀯! I mean, what's with Finland thinking they can just send some random dude to talk Putin down? Like, seriously, Alexander Stubb? You think Trump is just gonna waltz into Russia and negotiate an end to the war? πŸ˜‚ Please. It's not that simple.

And don't even get me started on this whole "only person who can force Putin" thing πŸ™„. What does Finland really know about geopolitics? They're like, a tiny country stuck in the middle of Europe, trying to dictate how Russia should behave. Give me a break!

Trump's just gonna show up at the White House and start making promises like that? It sounds like some sort of quid pro quo situation πŸ€‘. I mean, what does Ukraine even get out of this deal besides "peace"? What about their sovereignty? Their people? Just gonna be pawned off to Russia like some kind of bargaining chip.

And let's not forget the optics here πŸ“Έ. Finland's basically saying that we trust Trump more than Putin on this whole peace thing. Like, what are they even thinking? It's a huge power move and I am so here for it πŸ’β€β™€οΈ

omg i think this is gonna be SO EPIC!!! trump is like literally the best for this situation 🀩 he's got that special something where ppl listen to him & stuff, plus he's already shown he can make moves in asia, so russia should def wanna talk to him lol. and yeah, having ukraine at the table makes total sense, i mean who doesn't love a good peace deal with some compromise? πŸ™ but seriously, this is like super serious diplomacy, and trump just stepped up & offered his help πŸ’ͺ cant wait for what's gonna happen next!

the whole thing about trump forcing putin into talks seems kinda fishy 🐟 idk how much credit stubb is giving to the us but if they're gonna do it, might as well get it done ASAP ⏱️ maybe finland's onto something or maybe trump's just trying to get a good headline out of this 😎 anyway, what's good for ukraine should be all about finding a peaceful solution that works for everyone not just some last-minute power play πŸ’‘

I'm not sure if I fully trust Finland's President Alexander Stubb on this one...like what exactly makes them think Donald Trump's got the magic touch to get Putin to negotiate? πŸ€” Trump can be pretty unpredictable, and I don't wanna count him out just yet...on the other hand, it would be awesome if he could make some real progress on this front. Maybe we should all just sit back, relax, and see how it plays out? πŸ˜…

so like what's going on here?? Finland's prez thinks it's just Trump who can get Putin to talk, but doesn't he live in Mar-a-lago now? wouldn't that make things kinda hard for him to show up? πŸ€” and I'm not sure if I agree with this thinking... if US is really the only one who can force Russia into negotiations, what about other big powers like China or EU? shouldn't they be able to help out too? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

I'm not buying it πŸ€”... Finland's President making claims about Donald Trump being the only one who can force Vladimir Putin into negotiations? That sounds like a pretty convenient narrative, especially with Trump's upcoming meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky. It's possible that Stubb was trying to influence Trump's agenda or get him on board with their views. I'd love to see more context about this "leverage" claim - what exactly does Finland think the US has that Putin doesn't? And isn't it a bit of a stretch to say that only a US president can force Putin into negotiations? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Can you imagine what's going on? Like Finland's President thinks some US guy can just straight up make Putin talk 🀯... I mean, I get it, they wanna peace and all but isn't that kinda presumptuous? And Trump's all like "peace should be achieved" but hasn't he done anything to achieve it himself? πŸ™„... But hey, if anyone can do it, maybe him. The thing is, what does Ukraine even want from Russia anymore? It's been a mess for years and I don't see any end in sight πŸ˜•...
