Liverpool's title defence hangs precariously in the balance as their star striker Mohamed Salah struggles to rediscover his form after a series of unconvincing performances. The Egyptian international has been instrumental in driving Liverpool towards a record 20th league title last season, but this term he finds himself at the centre of a disruption that extends beyond his personal woes.

Salah's recent dip in form is symptomatic of a larger issue - a lack of cohesion within the team. Despite boasting an impressive squad of individual talents, Liverpool's collective performance has been marred by inconsistency and a worrying reliance on set pieces to score goals. The team's struggles are compounded by the presence of new signings, with coaches Arne Slot seeking to accommodate Wirtz and Ekitiké in the starting lineup.

The impact of Salah's absence from his usual spot at right-wing-back has also been felt, particularly in his partnership with Trent Alexander-Arnold. The duo's chemistry, which blossomed over eight seasons, has been noticeably absent this term, with Salah often operating behind three full-backs and alongside three new forwards.

Slot acknowledges the need for a balance between wingers and full-backs but requires Salah to command centre stage again, particularly against Manchester United on Sunday. A win would be enough for Slot to reach a 100-point mark in fewer games than any manager in Liverpool's history, but his team's cohesion is still lacking.

Salah's recent performances have been largely overshadowed by personal struggles, including the grief over Jota's death last season. The trade-off made last year, where Salah took on more attacking responsibilities, has been jettisoned this term, with coaches seeking to expose him on the counter-attack and exploit his defensive duties.

While Slot is aware of the risk of exposing Salah's flank to Enzo Maresca's probing, he remains convinced that the Egyptian will find his form again. However, for now, it's a delicate balancing act, and Liverpool's title defence hangs precariously in the balance as they look to rediscover their rhythm against United on Sunday.

Salah's struggles are not just about him 🤔... I mean, the guy has been carrying that team on his back for years! And now he's gotta find his groove all over again? 😂 It's like they're trying to reinvent the wheel here. I get it, new signings and all that, but can't they just get everyone clicking at once? 🤮 The team's got so much talent, but cohesion is key, right? 💡 Maybe Slot needs to take a step back and think about how he can best utilize Salah's strengths while still giving the other players their chance to shine. I mean, it's not like they're gonna win 20 titles without him... 😅

🤔 i feel like lfc is still adjusting to the new season, and its not all mohamed salah's fault lol. those new signings can take time to gel, and slot's trying to mix things up. meanwhile salah's dealing with some personal stuff after jota's passing 🤕. we need to see the team come together again before i get too worried 😬

Omg this is soooo stressful!! 🤯 Salah's struggles are like, really affecting the whole team. I'm loving Trent Alexander-Arnold btw, he's still giving me major fits with his goals 🤩 but seriously, coaches need to find a balance between wingers and full-backs. And honestly, I feel for Salah, grief over Jota's passing last season is no joke 💔. Can't wait to see him back to his old self tho! 👏

omg i think slot needs to rethink his strategy lol Salah's form is def affecting the whole team but its not just him, the whole squad is struggling with consistency...new signings r great and all but we need to see them gel more than just play together 🤷‍♂️💔

lol u guys need 2 calm down lol Salah is havin a rough patch but its not just him its the whole team. dey r strugglin 2 gel together. new signings r causin problems coz u cant jist swap out players mid season. & u got da coach tryin 2 make de most of it meanwhile Salahs still tryna find his groove after last seasons drama 🤕👀

I'm getting really worried about Salah... like, I get it, he's human and can have ups & downs but 3 games of non-scoring is a lot 🤦‍♂️. The team needs him back to his old self ASAP! 😬 What's going on with the squad? They're all so talented but they need that cohesion 😕. It's like they're trying to reinvent Salah instead of working with what we know works 🙅‍♂️. And Trent is looking lost without their partnership 💔. Coach Slot needs to figure out a way to get them clicking ASAP ⏰. Liverpool can't afford to drop points, especially against United on Sunday 😬. Fingers crossed they can sort it out soon! 👍

I'm telling you, this is gonna be one of those games where Salah just needs to step up and save his own skin 💪🏽... but at the same time, I think it's a perfect example of how much pressure he's under - if he doesn't deliver, there's gonna be all sorts of blame directed at him 🤯. But if he does come back strong, will that just make everyone forget about Jota and his passing? I don't know... this whole thing is so tangled up in itself 🕸️. I'm worried that the team is losing its mojo, but at the same time, maybe we need to see some new chemistry form between Salah and Trent 🔥.

Ugh, I'm getting these vibes like 2014 when Luis Suarez was having an off-season 🤕 and we all thought the Reds were doomed... But seriously, what happened to Salah's mojo? 😂 It's like he's lost in the wilderness, trying to find his way back to those magical goalscoring days. I mean, this team needs him, you know? And Trent and Alexander-Arnold aren't even the same duo we used to love 🤦‍♂️. The coaching is trying to mix things up, but it's just not clicking... We need Salah back to his old self ASAP 💪, or else... well, you get the feeling 😬

lol what's going on with lfc this season 🤯. they can't even get salah back on form after losing jota it was like a huge trade off last year and now they're trying to do too much with him. slot is gonna struggle to balance those wingers and fullbacks, i mean trent and alexandre-arnold are like two peas in a pod, but salah's not even doing what he used to do at rwb 🤔. and what was the thought process behind bringing in new signings like wirtz and ekitiké? just can't seem to get it right this season... ⚽😐

Salah's back to Earth 🌎, but I still got faith in him 💪. Team needs cohesion, not just Salah being Salah 🤝. Can't have newbies disrupting chemistry like Wirtz & Ekitiké 🚨. Need Slot to get it together 🙏!

🤔 I feel bad for Salah, you know? He's been through some tough stuff lately and it's gonna take time to get back to his old self. But at the same time, coach Slot needs to find that balance between wingers and full-backs. It's like trying to juggle too many balls in the air 🤹‍♀️ - if he doesn't get it right, Liverpool might fall behind.

I think it's great that they're trying out new signings and formations, but sometimes you gotta go back to what works, you know? Salah's partnership with Trent was like a well-oiled machine 💪 - now they need to get that chemistry back. It's not gonna be easy, but I'm sure the team will find their groove again eventually 🔄

I'm thinking Salah needs some time to get back into form, but I'm worried about how much we're relying on him, you know? Like, our squad is so talented, but we can't just rely on one person all the time 😬. We need to figure out a way to balance our attack and defense better, 'cause when Salah's not scoring, it's like... what's gonna happen? 🤔 I mean, I get that we had a great team last season, but this year it feels different, you know? Like we're just trying to survive instead of dominate 💪.

I'm so over this Salah drama... 🤷‍♂️ It's not just about him struggling to find form, but also about the team's lack of cohesion. I mean, we all know Liverpool has an amazing squad, but they can't seem to get it together. They're too reliant on set pieces and new signings haven't quite clicked yet 🤔. And what's with the chemistry between Salah and Trent? It's like they're two peas in a pod... or at least, they used to be 😴. It's gonna take more than just one win against United to fix this, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Slot gets it sorted soon 💪

Ugh I'm getting so frustrated watching Liverpool right now 🤯 Salah's struggles are really affecting the team's performance and I feel like they're not using him properly anymore. I love Trent and Wirtz but can't they see that the chemistry between Salah and Trent is what makes them a great combo? 😂 And can we please talk about how inconsistent this team is? One week they're crushing it, next week they're getting thrashed by 3 goals 🤦‍♂️. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Sunday's match against United but honestly I think they need to figure some stuff out before then 💔

oh man... i feel bad for salah 🤕 he was on fire last season but now he's struggling to find his groove again 🔄 it's not just him tho, the whole team is looking a bit off 🔮 like they're still getting used to each other and finding their rhythm. and that's okay, it happens! 😊 especially with all these new signings trying to shake things up ⚽️ but you can't help but feel for salah, he's been through so much lately 🕊️ losing jota was a huge blow 💔 so here's hoping he gets back on track soon and the team starts clicking again 🔓

Ugh i was watching that match between liverpool and united last week 🤦‍♂️ it was so frustrating. Salah just isn't his usual self right now. And i get it, coaches gotta make changes and all but come on, cant they just stick with what works? Their team looks so disjointed. Alexander-Arnold is missing that chemistry with Salah which is huge for them. Slot needs to figure out how to balance those two positions or else they'll never win anything this season 🤔
