Secret Service Uncovers Suspicious Stance Near Trump's Air Force One Stop in Florida.
The US Secret Service has discovered a suspicious hunting stand set up in a tree near Palm Beach International Airport, where President Trump's plane lands when he visits his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
According to the agency, during its sweep of the area on Friday, before Mr. Trump arrived, it found items that caught their attention - a platform or hunting stand situated high up in a tree over 200 yards away from the airport's main path.
An FBI spokesperson confirmed this discovery, stating there was no impact on President Trump's movements and no one involved at the location during its sweep. The Secret Service initially did not identify what these items were.
In fact, multiple sources revealed that Air Force One had started using the airport area again after a recent construction period ended, which prompted the initial sweep by the agency.
However, it is still unclear when exactly the construction concluded - with no information on how long the hunting stand stood there beforehand.
The incident came as President Trump was set to spend a weekend at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach. The airport has undergone security checks multiple times due to previous security breaches experienced during Mr. Trump's visits, prompting increased scrutiny and even suspensions of several Secret Service agents earlier this year.
Last year, an attempted assassination occurred near the same golf club where President Trump stayed.
