Man, this guy's story is just shocking . Faking his own death to avoid charges? That's just crazy. I don't know what kind of twisted mindset he had, but it's amazing that they finally caught up with him after all these years.

this sentence is just so messed up how can someone fake their own death and think they're gonna get away with it 5 years is a pretty harsh sentence but i guess he had no right to try to avoid punishment like that the victim's statement about him leaving a trail of fear and pain is really powerful and i wish more people spoke out about this stuff

I think 5 yrs is kinda harsh , I mean Nicholas had a history of trauma & was getting treatment for COVID-19, seems like he needed some help back then. Plus, 1 life sentence would've been way more severe, felt like the system was trying to punish him even more after being on the run for that long
