As Autumn Takes Hold, Dub Techno Heats Up

Bath-born DJ Conna Haraway is a name you should know in the dub techno scene right now. The Glasgow producer has been steadily building his reputation with recent releases on co:clear and Index:Records labels, which he also heads. His latest EP, Spatial Fix, showcases his unique blend of stern techno beats and ambient textures.

Haraway's sound design is where he truly shines, imbuing each track with a tactile quality that draws you in. The opener Freon, for example, kicks off with a tropical trip-hop vibe before subsiding into a static-laden haze that closes out the 35-minute EP. This is followed by the glorious dancehall-infused Patent.

For fans of Purelink and Cousin, Haraway's music will be right up your alley. His latest release on Short Span also features collaborations with Xenia Reaper, Mammo, and Sa Pa, who are all pushing the boundaries of dub techno forward. Haraway's own beats, meanwhile, have a subtle swing to them that builds deep layers into his misty soundscapes.

Conna Haraway's addition to the label catalog serves as a reminder that there's still plenty of exciting new talent emerging in the dub techno scene. If you're looking for a soundtrack to match the season's melancholy mood, look no further than Spatial Fix. With its unhurried pace and gorgeous melodies, this is music that will stay with you long after the autumnal grey skies have passed.

In other news from the world of new tracks, Peaches are gearing up to release their first album in a decade, which promises to be an exciting return to form for the electroclash outfit. Meanwhile, This Is Lorelei serves as another perfect pop gem from one half of Water from Her Eyes, while Dexter in the Newsagent features London-based artist Charmaine Ayoku on a catchy beat about shrugging off unsuitable relationships.

Other notable mentions include Lala Lala's wistful indie-pop dreamer Does This Go Faster?, Armand Hammer and The Alchemist's Super Nintendo, which showcases Billy Woods' surrealist flow over a beautifully noodling synth melody, and Julianna Barwick and Mary Lattimore's Melted Moon, which pairs two of modern composition's most celestial-sounding musicians for an otherworldly listening experience.

Lastly, Steve Hauschildt is back with his solo career, releasing Aeropsia, an album that's like a cloud of glittering sound with thunder menacing its edges. If you're looking to anchor yourself before diving in, take note: this one's not for the faint of heart.

I'm low-key excited about Conna Haraway's Spatial Fix but I'm also kinda worried it'll get lost in all the noise from these newer labels like co:clear and Index:Records 🤔. I mean, have you seen their lineup lately? It's like they're trying to out-dub each other or something 😒. And don't even get me started on the price of vinyl records now – it's like they're just gouging people for cash 💸. Anyway, back to Haraway... his beats do sound pretty cool and all, but we'll see how long that tropical trip-hop vibe lasts in this increasingly saturated dub techno scene 🌴🎶

Autumn's chill is settling in and our music tastes are shifting too 🍂🎶. I find it interesting how Conna Haraway's dub techno vibes capture the melancholy mood of the season so perfectly - like he's tapping into something universal. It makes me think about the power of sound to evoke emotions and create connections with others. Can we say that music has a way of transcending our individual experiences, becoming a shared language in itself? 🤔 And what does it mean when an artist's unique style resonates with fans in a particular moment - is it a reflection of their own mood or something more?

Conna Haraway's Spatial Fix EP is giving me life 🤩 but I gotta say, his beat selection can be a bit hit or miss at times. I mean, some tracks like Freon and Patent are absolute bangers 🔥 but others feel like they're dragging on for too long ⏰. Still, that sound design is next level 💫, it's like he's transported me to another dimension. I'm also loving the vibe of his label co:clear - they're really pushing the boundaries of dub techno and discovering some talented new artists 🌟

autumn is all about letting go and embracing the melancholy vibes, right? Conna Haraway's music just feels like a sonic representation of that - it's like he's wrapping you in a warm blanket on a chilly autumn evening 🍂❤️. but what I love most about him is how he doesn't hold back - his beats are like a punch to the gut, and then you're left wondering why it felt so good 😩. anyway, Spatial Fix is like a cozy sweater for your soul: it's got all these layers that slowly reveal themselves as you listen 🎧. just remember, sometimes you gotta shake off the static before you can find your rhythm 💪

autumn vibes are everything right now lol, and dub techno is taking over 🎶🌲 i mean who doesn't love a good 35-minute EP that just drags you into its melancholy world? haraway's got the skills though, his sound design is on point and it's like he's painting these textures in your ears 🎨💻 peaches are back, yay! and lala lala's new album sounds like a dream pop anthem i'm all about that indie-pop life 💖 anyway, gotta give props to haraway for bringing dub techno into the spotlight 👏

I'm telling ya, have you noticed how all these labels are just flooding the scene with new artists at the same time? It's like they're all trying to distract us from something... I mean, what's really going on with all this dub techno hype? Is it just a coincidence that so many talented producers are popping up around the same time? 🤔🎶

dude, i'm so stoked about Conna Haraway's Spatial Fix EP right now 🤯 it's like he took all these different vibes - trip-hop, dancehall, techno - and blended them into something completely unique. his sound design is insane 🔥 the way he weaves together these textures and beats is like a whole new language. i'm obsessed with Freon and Patent 🎵

I'm loving the Dub Techno vibes right now 🌙💥. Conna Haraway's Spatial Fix is giving me all the feels - that atmospheric sound design is everything ✨. I'm also really hyped to see Peaches back with a new album, been ages since we got some fresh electroclash goodness 🔥. Water from Her Eyes are always on point too, Lorelei is my jam 🎶. Lala Lala's Does This Go Faster? is another standout track for me, so soothing 😌. And I'm intrigued by this Steve Hauschildt solo album Aeropsia, thunderous soundscapes ahead ⛈️!

just listened to conna haraway's new ep and i'm obsessed with the textures he's using, it's like he took all my autumnal blues and turned them into a 35-minute sonic haze 🌫️🍂 anyone else vibing on this? spatial fix is literally the perfect soundtrack for when you're stuck inside on a grey day 👀

omg I'm so down for some dub techno vibes 🎶🔊 Conna Haraway is killing the game right now and Spatial Fix is giving me all the autumnal feels 🍂👻 I love how his beats are like a warm hug on a cold day, it's like he's wrapping you in this cozy blanket of sound 😌 And can we talk about the collaborations? Xenia Reaper and Mammo are pushing the boundaries of dub techno forward and I am HERE. FOR. IT 💥

I'm not convinced about Conna Haraway being the next big thing in dub techno just yet 🤔. His sound design is pretty cool and all, but I need some solid proof that his beats can hold a dancefloor. Can someone point me to a live set or interview where he's discussed his inspirations or creative process? And what's with the label ties - is co:clear and Index:Records just a bunch of friends playing nice together or are they actually pushing the genre forward?
