Ground Zero Memorial Reflects on Lives Lost on 9/11

Burying the Past, or Not? The Ground Zero memorial in Lower Manhattan has been a place of somber remembrance for 15 years.

Since its completion a decade ago, this national September 11 memorial and museum has welcomed countless visitors from around the world, each paying respects to the lives lost on that fateful day.

The memorial's design is striking – two dark granite basins with water cascading from their lips, featuring bronze panels inscribing the names of all 2,977 who perished.
