A harrowing rescue at the slopes of Mt. Baker in Washington state has left onlookers shaken, but also inspired. Skier Francis Zuber's quick thinking and bravery saved a snowboarder who had become trapped upside down in a tree well.

The incident occurred when Zuber noticed the distressed rider and sprang into action, administering CPR until medical help arrived. His swift reaction was hailed as a textbook example of what to do in such a situation, highlighting the importance of taking rescue courses to prepare for emergencies like this one.

"I just reacted instinctively," Zuber told CNN after the incident. "I knew I had to act fast to try and save his life."

The snowboarder's predicament was a grim reminder of the risks associated with winter sports. Tree wells can be particularly hazardous, and it's essential for skiers and riders to know what to do if someone becomes trapped.

Zuber's heroics have sparked widespread praise on social media, with many calling for others to take up rescue courses to learn how to respond in similar situations. The incident serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of being prepared for emergencies and taking action when it matters most.

Ugh, I'm telling u 🤯, this is like, so not a coincidence that this happened on Mt Baker... all those celebrities are always hitting up that mountain 🎿🔥, gotta wonder if it's more than just a coincidence. Like, what if there was something in the snow or the trees that caused the tree well to collapse? And what about Francis Zuber, is he some kinda secret agent with experience in wilderness survival? He seems way too calm and collected under pressure... 🤔 all I'm saying is, let's not jump to conclusions just yet 👀

🌞 just read about that harrowing rescue at Mt Baker and I'm still on cloud nine! Francis Zuber's bravery is literally inspiring 💖, who needs a superhero when you've got people like him doing their part to save lives? CPR training should be mandatory for skiers and snowboarders - it's all about being prepared 🤞. Onlookers were shook, but I think that's awesome! It means we're witnessing something truly special 🎉. Let's spread the word and get more people trained to respond in emergency situations... who knows, maybe one day we'll have a community of hero-like rescuers saving lives all over 🌟

🤯 I mean, can you even imagine being trapped upside down in those tree wells? It's like, your worst nightmare come true. And then this guy Francis Zuber just springs into action... it's like his training kicked in or something 🏔️. But what I'm really thinking about is the fact that we need to take these types of courses seriously. Like, how many times do we have to witness someone getting trapped before we realize the importance of being prepared? It's a harsh reminder that even in beautiful places like nature, danger can be lurking beneath the surface 🌲. Anyway, I'm just glad Francis Zuber was able to act fast and save that guy's life 💕.

🤩 can you believe that guy just saved someone's life on the slopes?! I'm so stoked he took CPR training, obviously, but still... quick thinking is everything in situations like this 🙌. And yeah, tree wells are a major no-no for skiers and riders, let's make sure to spread awareness about it. I love that Francis Zuber is getting recognized for his heroism, he's an amazing person for doing something so selfless 😊. It's also super inspiring that the snowboarder is alive thanks to him! Let's all take a cue from this and get ourselves prepared for emergencies 🏥💪
