it's pretty obvious that US-China relations are at a boiling point right now China's reaction to Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan was super intense and I think it's fair to say that both sides are getting more aggro by the minute Nicholas Burns' comments in the interview were pretty telling - he mentioned that the US is committed to protecting Taiwan, but also acknowledged that the situation is complicated what's clear is that nobody wants a war, but at the same time, tensions need to be addressed somehow the fact that China feels threatened by Taiwan's growing independence is valid, but so is the US' concerns about China's own intentions in the region
