College Kids Mute Amid Gaza Bloodshed, Leaving Bill Maher to Wonder Where They Went

Late-night host Bill Maher recently asked his guest, billionaire Mark Cuban, where "keffiyeh-wearing college kids" had vanished, given that Hamas was wreaking havoc on Palestinians in Gaza. Maher's inquiry came as part of an episode of "Real Time with Bill Maher," which aired in recent days.

Hamas has been accused of turning its guns against fellow Palestinians, resulting in at least 33 fatalities in Gaza City's main square. The attack prompted President Donald Trump to publicly denounce the violence and even threatened revoking visas from foreign students attending American universities who support Hamas.

Maher expressed astonishment that anti-Israel protesters had fallen silent amid the current bloodshed, asking Cuban where they had all gone. He repeated a sentiment made by Cuban, implying that it was disconcerting for these young individuals to have disappeared once their protests were in full swing.

Critics of student-led demonstrations against Israel argued that some protesters crossed the line into supporting Hamas, sparking controversy and raising concerns about the motivations behind anti-Israel activism.

The current turmoil has brought attention to the ongoing struggles faced by Palestinian students on American campuses, who are under investigation for suspected ties to Hamas. The President's warning of revoking visas from foreign students who support the group highlights the complex nature of anti-war activism versus open support for terrorist organizations like Hamas.

As the international community grapples with this escalating crisis in Gaza, Maher highlighted the need for greater awareness about the motivations behind student protests and the potential consequences of their actions.

I'm totally stoked that everyone's all quiet on the Gaza thing 🙏🌎. I mean, it's like they just vanished into thin air... or maybe they're just super scared to speak up? 😳 As a fan of Bill Maher, I love how he's keeping it real and asking tough questions, but at the same time, I think we need to acknowledge that these protests are way more complicated than just "pro-Israel" vs "anti-Israel". 🤯 It's like, what about all the Palestinians who aren't even from Gaza? 🤷‍♀️ And have you seen those vids of students being harassed on campus? 😱 It's messed up. I think we need to keep having these conversations, but maybe not in a way that makes people feel like they're gonna get visa revoked or whatever... 😬 Anyway, let's stay woke and try to understand each other's perspectives 🤝🌈

come on guys at my college we were all just trying to express our opinions & make a difference but now it feels like everyone's just ghosted 🙅‍♂️💔 what happened to us? did we all get too loud or something? i mean i saw some of these keffiyeh-wearing kids who were super passionate about the cause but then suddenly they're nowhere to be found 😕 and now bill maher is left wondering where they went 🤔 does it make sense that we'd just stop speaking out when things get violent?

😕 I'm not surprised that college kids are MIA amidst all the chaos in Gaza. Honestly, when you're a young person, it's easy to get caught up in the heat of the moment and join a protest without really thinking about the long-term implications or potential consequences. 🤔 It's almost like they're swept up in a wave of emotion and empathy for the Palestinian cause, but then suddenly vanish when things get real. 🌪️

I think it's time we had a conversation about this, though. We need to acknowledge that anti-Israel protests can be complex and multifaceted, and that some students may indeed be supporting Hamas without realizing it. It's not always easy to distinguish between legitimate activism and actual support for terrorist organizations. 🕵️‍♀️

We also need to recognize that Palestinian students on American campuses are facing a tough time, with many under investigation for suspected ties to Hamas. This is unacceptable, in my opinion. We should be supporting our students, not harassing them or threatening to revoke their visas. 😊

omg what is going on with these college kids?????? 🤯 they were all over social media protesting israel like a week ago and now its like they vanished into thin air 🗑️ i mean im not saying theyre pro hamas or anything but cant we have some nuance here 🤔 like why did they just stop protesting when things got real 💀 its not like the violence wasnt happening while they were still protesting either 👎 bill maher is so right to call them out on this 👊

Umm... what's going on with college kids right now 🤔? They're all just quiet and stuff when it comes to the whole Gaza thing, but they were super vocal about Israel before 🙅‍♂️. I get that people have different opinions, but shouldn't we be hearing more from them about this? It's kinda weird that they just... disappeared 💭. And now there's even a risk of them losing their visas if they support Hamas 🚫. It's all so confusing 🙈. Can someone explain to me what's going on here?
