Book your holiday flights now to avoid hefty price hikes later this year, according to Google's latest travel trends data for 2025.

As the weather begins to cool down this fall, many Americans are already showing interest in traveling over the holidays. In fact, about 79.9 million Americans plan to take a trip of at least 50 miles from home during the Thanksgiving holiday period, with a total of 119.3 million travelers expected during Christmas.

To find the best deals on flights, it's recommended to book your tickets at least 35 days before departure for Thanksgiving and up to 51 days in advance for Christmas. According to Google, the lowest prices are usually available 24-59 days before Thanksgiving travel, while a trip to be taken after Christmas will likely cost more.

For international travelers, booking as early as 49 days before departure is advised. However, the most expensive day to book flights is on Sundays, with Tuesdays being the cheapest option.

When it comes to popular holiday destinations, Columbia, South Carolina takes the top spot for Thanksgiving travel. This year's trending destinations include Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and St. Lucia.

Travelers are opting for warmer climates as winter temperatures set in, which may explain why these sunny spots are so in-demand.

In terms of pricing, the average domestic round-trip price for the first quarter of 2025 is $397, down slightly from last year's prices. With this data, it's essential to book your flights early to avoid higher costs later on.

πŸ›«οΈ I totally agree with Google's travel trends data for 2025! It makes total sense that booking those holiday flights now can save you a ton of cash in the long run. I mean, who wants to shell out more money when they could've gotten it at the initial price?

Also, I'm not surprised to see Colombia as the top spot for Thanksgiving travel - I've been there and it's just an amazing destination! The weather is perfect, and there are so many cool things to do. It's no wonder it's a favorite among Americans.

But what really caught my attention was that Rio de Janeiro and St. Lucia are trending this year! I'm thinking of heading to Brazil for Christmas - the idea of soaking up some sun in Rio sounds like the perfect way to escape winter. And let's be real, who doesn't love a good beach vacation?

The thing is though, with all these people planning trips at the same time, prices are going to get hiked soon enough. It's like the old saying goes - early bird catches the worm!

omg, have you seen these prices for holiday flights? 🀯 like, if u wanna save money, u gotta book ASAP... 51 days in advance is a lot of time, but idk why they say Sundays are the worst day to book... that's just random, right? πŸ˜‚ anyway, if ur planning a trip with ur fam over christmas, colombia sc is lookin pretty good as a destination... not surprised tho, who wouldn't wanna escape winter and head to rio or st lucea for some sun β˜€οΈ!

omg just read that 79.9 million americans r planning to travel over thanksgiving 🀯 that's insane! i was thinking of heading to columbia south carolina with my squad it's like the top spot for turkey day πŸ¦ƒπŸ‘« what about rio de janeiro tho? has anyone got any fave hotels in st. lucia? btw have u booked ur flights yet?

Ugh, I don't get why people wait till the last minute to book their holidays πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. Like, come on, Google has already given you the best time to book and you're still gonna go ahead and pay more? πŸ€‘ It's not like there's a better deal available later... 35-51 days in advance is not that hard to remember! πŸ˜’ And what's with Rio de Janeiro and St. Lucia being so popular this year? I was thinking of going to those places, but now they're gonna be super expensive due to all the tourists... 🌴😐 Anyway, if you want to save some cash, just plan ahead and book those flights early, deal? πŸ’Έ

πŸ˜‚πŸ›«οΈ So these people are already planning their holiday trips and the airlines are just like, "Hey, we're gonna raise our prices if you don't book now"... it's like a bad boyfriend move πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. Like, seriously, who doesn't love a good sale? πŸŽ‰ And Colombia is the top spot for Thanksgiving travel... sounds like some people just really want to escape their aunties at Thanksgiving dinner 😳. Anyway, I guess booking early is key now... might as well make that money πŸ’Έ before the prices skyrocket πŸš€!

🌞 u know what's wild? ppl are already planning their holidays and booking flights like crazy πŸš€! i was thinking of taking a trip to mexico for christmas, but the prices r gonna be through the roof if i don't book it like 50 days in advance πŸ˜…. anyone else feelin the pressure to get those last min deals? btw, columbia sc is supposed to be the top spot for thanksgiving travel... never been πŸ€”

πŸ˜’ I don't buy that Google's travel trends data is always accurate... where's their source? Are they just relying on what airlines and travel companies tell them? πŸ€” I'm also curious about the 35-51 day rule for booking flights - isn't that a pretty wide window? How do we know that's not just because of historical pricing patterns, not actual demand. And what about the Sunday effect? Is that really due to airline schedules or just human psychology? πŸ€‘ Can't wait to see how this plays out in reality...

It's crazy how much we're gonna shell out for holiday travel this year 🀯! Like, I know people love a good deal, but $397 round-trip is already kinda steep for me. And if you wait till the last minute (or after Christmas), be prepared to pay a premium. Sundays are like, the worst day to book flights, btw πŸ˜’. On the other hand, Colombia's a great spot for Thanksgiving – I've been there with friends and it's amazing! Rio de Janeiro's on my bucket list now too 🌴... gotta start planning ASAP so I can snag those sweet deals πŸ’Έ

man i'm like really gonna wanna take a trip somewhere warm this fall lolπŸŒ΄πŸ–οΈ gotta say tho google's travel trends data is kinda crazy 79 million ppl taking trips over thanksgiving?! that's nuts 🀯 & they're saying book early or u'll be stuck payin high prices later 😩 btw what's up with columbia sc being the top spot for thanksgiving travel? never heard of it before πŸ€”

πŸ€” Flight prices are always a gamble, but booking now makes sense with these trends πŸ“ˆ. I've seen friends shell out way more for same flights next year if they don't lock in early ⏰. Colombia is gonna be lit this Thanksgiving, btw! Who's got the means to take a tropical getaway after winter sets in? πŸŒ΄πŸ‘€

Book those flights ASAP or you'll be stuck paying an arm and a leg πŸ€‘! I mean, 79.9 million Americans are planning to travel for Thanksgiving alone? That's a lot of people, but like, how did Google even crunch that number? And what's with Columbia being the top spot? I thought it was Miami or Orlando last year... guess my info is outdated πŸ˜‚. Anyway, booking early makes total sense considering those prices are already $397 on average for domestic flights 🀯. Don't wait till Sunday to book, dude, 'cause that's when prices skyrocket and you'll be crying all the way to Rio de Janeiro or St. Lucia 🚫.
