Cairn review – obsession, suffering and awe in a climbing game that hits exhausting new heights

Climbing a mountain is not for the faint of heart. The allure of conquering some of the world's most daunting peaks can be intoxicating, but it comes with a steep price. Cairn, the latest game from developer Rawmen Media, puts you in the shoes of Aava, a champion climber driven by an unyielding obsession to scale Mount Kami. This is not just a game about climbing; it's a survival experience that will test your resolve and push you to the limits.

As you navigate Aava through treacherous terrain, you'll need to carefully manage her every move, making split-second decisions to avoid catastrophe. The sense of danger is palpable, with even the slightest misstep potentially sealing her fate. You'll have to ration resources, scavenge for food and water, and meticulously tend to her injuries, all while trying to maintain a grip on sanity.

The game's tension is expertly crafted, with moments of sheer terror and heart-stopping excitement that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I found myself gasping in relief whenever Aava stumbled into a safe haven, only to be yanked back down into the depths of despair when she fell off the mountain once more.

But Cairn is not just about thrills and spills; it's also a thought-provoking exploration of obsession and determination. As you progress through the game, you'll begin to question Aava's motivations and your own reasons for playing this grueling experience. Will you turn on assists or suffer alongside her? The choice is yours, but be warned: this game can be brutal.

The ending will leave you breathless and bereft. I won't spoil it here, but suffice it to say that the cost of Aava's ambition is higher than she ever could have imagined. It's a powerful commentary on what drives us to push ourselves beyond the limits of human endurance.

Cairn is a masterclass in game design, weaving together an intricate narrative with heart-stopping action and gut-wrenching emotional depth. If you're ready to confront your own fears and take on one of the most daunting challenges imaginable, this is not a game to be missed.

OMG I'm literally shaken after playing Cairn 🤯😱 it's like they really put themselves in our shoes as players... i was literally holding my breath for Aava 🤞 and then she falls off the mountain 😩😭 I get why she wanted to climb the mountain so badly, but sometimes I think we take things too far? 🤔 the game is SO intense and it's like you're right there with her, feeling every bit of pain and fear 😓👀

I love how the game doesn't hold your hand through the whole experience, you really have to be present and make those tough decisions yourself 💡 it's like, what would I do in that situation? 🤷‍♀️ would I turn on assists or suffer with her? 🤔 same here, I'm still thinking about it 😂

anyway... just wanted to share my thoughts after that crazy ride 🎮😲

I'm so stoked for Cairn! I mean, who wouldn't want to play as a climber trying to conquer this crazy mountain? 🏔️ It's like, you're literally put in their shoes and have to make those tough decisions, manage resources, and deal with the mental strain. And the ending, man... it's just so intense. I loved how it made me think about why I'm playing this game and what drives people to push themselves that hard. It's like, are you in it for the thrill or is there something more going on? 🤯 The graphics and gameplay look insane too! Can't wait to try it out and see if it lives up to all the hype 😎

I'm low-key impressed by Cairn, but also kinda worried it's gonna mess with my head 😅. I mean, 90% of the time, I was on the edge of my seat, screaming at Aava to just turn around and head back down 🙅‍♂️. But then there are these moments where you're like "girl, what are you even doing?!" 🤣. It's a super emotional rollercoaster ride, but in a good way, I guess? The theme of obsession is really thought-provoking too - it made me think about my own motivations and why I do the things I do 🤔. Anyway, if you're feeling brave (or masochistic), Cairn is def worth checking out 😬

🤯 I mean, can we talk about how intense Cairn is?! I was literally on the edge of my seat the whole time, wondering if Aava was gonna make it down that mountain alive 🏔️💀. The way they built up this sense of tension and danger was insane – every decision felt so crucial, like one wrong move would be game over 😱.

And what really got me was how thought-provoking the whole thing was. I mean, we're always talking about pushing ourselves to be our best selves, but Cairn takes that to a whole new level 🤯. It's not just about climbing a mountain – it's about obsession and determination... and sometimes, the cost of those things can be really steep 💔.

I gotta say, I'm still reeling from the ending... 😲 it was like my heart was in my throat for a good 5 minutes after the credits rolled 🎥. If you're looking for a game that'll test your limits and make you think about what drives us, Cairn is definitely the way to go 💪.

omg have u ever tried making your own matcha latte from scratch 🍵😂 i swear its a whole science u gotta get the ratio just right or itll be too bitter...anyway back to cairn...i heard rawmen media is based in canada lol they must love hiking or something ❄️ i mean who plays games at 10pm and gets up at 6am for a hike? sounds like my dream life tbh 😴

omg u guys have u played cairn yet?? 🤯 it's literally so intense i was on edge the whole time worrying about aava getting hurt or falling off the mountain 😨 but at the same time i loved how it made me think about why we push ourselves so hard and what drives us to take risks 💥 and that ending tho!!! 💔 i need to play through it again just to try and process everything 🤯

🏔️😬[GIF: mountain climber in distress] 💀👦😱 Cairn is like when you're trying to adult but your inner child just wants to climb mountains and die 🤣😂💥😨 What's not to love about that?!

I'm so hyped for Cairn 🤯! The idea of being stuck in the mountains with no way out sounds super stressful 😬. I love how it's not just about climbing but also about survival and managing resources 💧. It makes me think, what would I do if I was in Aava's shoes? Would I stick to my goals or try to find a way out? 🤔

The thought-provoking part is really interesting too 👀. Is it worth the risk of pushing yourself to the limit just for achievement? 💪 I'm not sure, but I want to play it to find out 🎮.

I do have one concern though... is it okay to be so invested in a game that you feel bad when your character dies? 😭 That's what happened to me like 5 times already 😳. Guess I'll just have to keep playing until the end! 💥

😩 I mean, have you guys played Cairn? It's like... *takes a deep breath* ...you feel like you're literally climbing with Aava, my heart was racing so hard whenever she'd slip or fall off the mountain 🏔️💀. The game is super intense and it really makes you question what drives people to take such huge risks. I didn't see the ending coming at all 😱, I was literally on the edge of my seat... and then I just felt this massive sense of sadness afterwards, like Aava's journey was so raw and emotional 💔. Anyways, if you're up for a thrilling adventure that'll test your limits, Cairn is def worth checking out 🎮

I mean, I think climbing a mountain is super cool, but at the same time... it's just so dangerous? Like, what if someone gets hurt or something? 🤔 And I'm all for adventure and trying new things, but Cairn sounds like it's gonna be way too intense. I don't know, man... I think I'll stick to playing games on my couch while sipping tea ☕️. But then again, maybe that's just me being a scaredy-cat? 🙅‍♂️

🏔️ I think what really sets Cairn apart from other climbing games is its willingness to put the player in Aava's shoes, literally. You feel every bump, bruise, and mistake she makes, which makes the experience feel ridiculously immersive... but also kind of terrifying 🤯. At the same time, it's not just about the thrill of the climb; it's a really nuanced exploration of obsession and what drives people to push themselves so hard. I mean, what are you willing to sacrifice for the sake of your goal? It's a super thought-provoking game that'll keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat... but also maybe not sleeping too well at night 😅. The tension in Cairn is expertly crafted - it's like one wrong move could be disastrous, and even small victories can feel hollow if Aava just falls off again 💔. But despite all that stress, the ending will leave you feeling really unsettled... in a good way, I guess? It's like, wow, what have we gotten ourselves into here?! 😳

OMG yooo Cairn is like the ultimate test of endurance 🏔️💪 I was literally on the edge of my seat the whole time playing it, I mean Aava's obsession with climbing is so intense and it's crazy how Rawmen Media crafted this experience to be both terrifying and thought-provoking 😱🤯. The resource management and injury system are so realistic it feels like you're actually trying to survive on a mountain 🌲💉. And that ending? UGH I won't lie I'm still reeling from it 😩💔. If you're up for the challenge, trust me when I say Cairn is worth every penny 💸👍

🤔 omg have u played games that r like this before? i mean climbing mountains sounds so intense! do u think its good 4 ur mental health? i kinda felt bad 4 Aava the whole time she was struggling 🤕🏔️ what made u keep playing despite all the risks? 😅
