Fox News Employees Alarmed by Network's Alleged Biased Coverage, Legal Filing Reveals

Internal survey from 2020 sparks concerns about network's editorial standards and Trump-friendly content.

A damning internal survey conducted at Fox News in 2020 has shed light on the network's employees' deep-seated concerns about its coverage of Donald Trump and the Republican party. The survey of over 1,000 employees reveals a worrying trend: many workers feel that their employer is not taking adequate steps to address biased content, and some have expressed feelings of moral unease due to the network's perceived complicity with the president's election claims.

Some employees went so far as to describe Fox News as "a propaganda machine for the Republican party" rather than a reputable news organization. Others lamented the proliferation of misogynist, racist, and right-wing content on the airwaves. A particularly striking comment from an anonymous employee summed up the prevailing sentiment: "I sometimes go home fighting back tears... Have I sold my soul to the devil?"

The survey also highlights the network's reliance on prominent hosts like Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity, who are accused of peddling conspiracy theories and BS. Many employees feel that these hosts are a liability for the network, contributing to a divisive atmosphere in the country.

Fox has responded by saying that the survey responses have no bearing on the merits of its coverage, but the company's silence on these issues raises questions about its commitment to journalistic integrity. The network's failure to act on employee concerns also casts a shadow over its reputation as a great place to work.

The case against Fox News is ongoing, with Smartmatic alleging that the network defamed it in its coverage of the 2020 presidential election. As the trial continues, employees' comments from the survey provide valuable insight into the inner workings of the network and the tensions between those who promote Trump-friendly content and those who strive for journalistic excellence.

With the indictment of several Smartmatic executives also adding a new layer to the case, it remains to be seen how the courts will rule on these matters. One thing is clear: Fox News employees are divided on their loyalty to the network, with many feeling that they have lost sight of the principles that make journalism meaningful.

the fact that fox news employees are so open about their concerns just goes to show that you can't control what's said or not said when it comes to biased content 🤯. i mean, its been pretty obvious for years that fox news has a clear leaning towards republicans and trump supporters, but its still shocking to see the extent of how far the network will go to keep those views on air.

at the same time though, its also kinda expected. journalism is subjective, and opinions are going to vary - but when it comes down to it, shouldn't we be looking for a balance between different perspectives? instead of just pushing one agenda over another 🤔. this whole thing with fox news and smartmatic is just another reminder that the lines between truth and propaganda can get really blurred very quickly 🔍.
