High school coach, wife ID’d as victims killed in crash tied to illegal alien trucker released by Biden admin

Two victims of a high-speed crash in Southern California, which killed three people, have been identified as Clarence Nelson, an assistant basketball coach at Pomona High School, and his wife Lisa Nelson.

The San Bernardino County Coroner's office confirmed that both 76-year-old Clarence Nelson and 69-year-old Lisa Nelson died instantly from their injuries after the crash on Tuesday. The incident is believed to be linked to a tractor-trailer driven by an illegal immigrant who crashed into slow-moving traffic on the I-10 Freeway in San Bernardino County.

According to federal sources, Jashanpreet Singh, the 21-year-old Indian national at the wheel of the big rig, was released from immigration custody by the Biden administration after crossing the southern border in 2022. The crash is now under investigation and has raised concerns about the safety of roads due to lack of proper English language proficiency among truck drivers.

State Senator Susan Rubio expressed her condolences on social media for the victims' families, stating that their lives were lost due to a tragic incident that would have a ripple effect across the entire school community. The Pomona High School basketball coach and his wife's loss has left the district in mourning.

As officials probe into Singh's driving skills, it was discovered he failed English-language proficiency tests required by federal regulations for commercial drivers in California.

This crash is a sobering reminder of how vulnerable we are on our roads 🚗💔. The fact that Jashanpreet Singh, an undocumented immigrant, lost his license to drive due to poor language skills highlights the need for more comprehensive language training programs for truck drivers 👥💼. It's heartbreaking to think about the Nelson family's lives being cut short in such a tragic accident 🙏.

As a society, we have a responsibility to ensure that our roads are safe for everyone, regardless of their background or immigration status 💕. We need to consider the impact of our policies on the safety of our communities and work towards creating more inclusive and supportive environments for all drivers 🌎💻.

It's also worth noting that the lack of English proficiency among truck drivers is not a new issue, but it's concerning that Singh was released from immigration custody in 2022 without adequate language training or oversight 🕰️. We need to do better to support our law enforcement and ensure that those who enter our country are held to the same standards as everyone else 💪.

🤕 Ugh, this is just heartbreaking... Two innocent people, gone in an instant 🚗💔. I mean, can you imagine being the husband of a school coach and just losing both of you at once? 😱 It's like something out of a movie, but it's all too real. And to make matters worse, the fact that the guy who was driving the tractor-trailer didn't even speak English... it's just so avoidable 🙅‍♂️. I'm all for helping people come to this country and start new lives, but we gotta ensure they're safe on our roads first. It's not worth losing lives over a language barrier 🚗💀. What really gets me is that this guy was released from immigration custody in 2022... what were the authorities thinking? 🤔 This whole thing just feels like so many things are going wrong, and I'm just left feeling... 😕

🤕 This is such a devastating tragedy - 2 innocent lives lost & families shattered. It's just heartbreaking to think about poor Clarence Nelson & his wife Lisa being in that accident. 🚗💔 The fact that the truck driver, Jashanpreet Singh, didn't pass English language proficiency tests is just another layer of concern for safety on our roads... what if he'd passed? 🤦‍♂️ We need to make sure these drivers are proficient & safe to drive. 💯

😔 "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." It seems like some well-meaning efforts have gone wrong here 🚧. The idea of releasing an immigrant driver from custody after a few months is understandable, but clearly not enough was done to ensure his safety on the roads. It's time for a more thorough review of our systems to prevent such tragedies in the future 💡.

Tragic news indeed 🤕... poor souls didn't stand a chance. And now we have to worry about roads being safer because apparently some folks just can't handle basic language rules 😒. Like, how hard is it to pass an English test? It's not rocket science, right? 🚀 The fact that this guy got released back into the wild after crossing the border in 2022 raises so many questions... and probably a lot of red tape too 📝. I guess we'll just have to keep driving (literally) with our fingers crossed for safe roads 🙏. Poor families, it's times like these that really make you wonder about accountability 🤔.

Just heard about that terrible accident on the I-10 Freeway 🚨. The fact that the truck driver didn't speak enough English is just heartbreaking. I mean, can you imagine being on those trucks all day, driving through unfamiliar roads and not knowing what's going on around you? It's a safety nightmare! The poor victims at that high-speed crash... 76 and 69 years old, taken away from us too soon 😔. You'd think with all the regulations in place, someone would have spotted those language proficiency issues before letting him hit the roads 🤦‍♂️. Anyway, I hope they catch the driver and find out how this happened, so we can learn from it and make sure our roads are safer for everyone ❤️.

🤔 this whole thing is just so sad 🙏... I mean, can you imagine losing your loved one like that? especially when it's due to something that could have been avoided if the driver had passed those language tests first off 🚧... and now there are going to be all these ripples in the school community 🤓... I'm sure Coach Nelson was a great guy, loved by everyone who knew him 👏... and his wife Lisa too, what a shame 😔... this whole thing just makes you wonder how many more lives could have been saved if everyone followed the rules 🙅‍♂️... anyway, my condolences to the families too 💔

That's just heartbreaking 🤕 - two families torn apart from their loved ones in an instant. I can only imagine how tough this must be on the family and friends of Coach Nelson and his wife Lisa, especially since they're both pillars of their school community 🏫. And to think that it could have been prevented if he had just passed those English tests... what a tragedy 😔. It's one thing when we hear about these incidents in the news, but to see them affect someone so close to home makes it even more devastating 💔. I just hope they're getting the support they need from Pomona High School and the wider community 🤞.

🤕 this is just so sad ... I mean, three people already lost their lives in that crash, and then we find out that the driver who caused it wasn't even paying attention to where he was going because his English isn't up to par. I get it, you gotta learn a new language when you come to a new country, but come on! You're driving a massive rig down the highway? That's just not right. And now we find out that this kid, Jashanpreet Singh, was let loose on our roads despite failing those English tests... it just doesn't add up. I'm all for giving people a second chance in life, but you gotta make sure they're competent to be behind the wheel of something as powerful as a tractor-trailer. It's like, what's the point of having laws and regulations if nobody's gonna enforce them?

I don't think we should be using immigration status to police truck drivers' language skills. Like, I get that it's a safety thing, but what about people who are born and raised here but still struggle with language? It's not like they're gonna put their lives at risk just 'cause of a accent 😒. And on the other hand, if someone's been living in this country for years, shouldn't we trust them to get the hang of driving by now? 🤷‍♀️

Ugh, can you believe this guy Jashanpreet Singh got away with everything? Like, he breaks into the country, gets released back out again and now he's behind the wheel of a big rig? It's just not right! 🚨 And to make matters worse, he failed his English tests and still managed to get on the road. That's some serious oversight right there. I mean, what's next? Are we gonna start trusting people who can barely speak English with our lives?

And don't even get me started on the whole 'released from immigration custody' thing. Like, what exactly was he being held for again? Crossing the border uninvited? That's not a crime, that's just... existence, I guess.

I'm so sorry to hear about the Nelsons and their families. It's just heartbreaking to think about all those lives lost due to this guy's reckless driving. The Pomona High School community must be going through some tough times right now. 🤕

RIP to those who lost their lives on the I-10 Freeway 🚗💔. Can't believe a tractor-trailer driver without proper English language skills can cause so much destruction 😱. Safety first, that's what we need more of 💯.

This crash is just devastating 🤕... can't even imagine losing two lovely people like that to an avoidable accident 🌧️. It makes me think about the importance of road safety and how it affects not just us, but our families and communities too 👪. The fact that a truck driver's lack of English language proficiency was a contributing factor is really concerning 💔... can't we do more to support our immigrant friends in learning the language and getting the training they need? 🤝 It's also heartbreaking for Clarence and Lisa's loved ones, especially their family at Pomona High School, where he coached his team with so much passion ❤️. My thoughts are with them all during this tough time 💕.

😱 I'm still trying to process this tragedy, can't believe those two lovely people lost their lives on our roads. The fact that the driver was released despite failing English language proficiency tests is just heartbreaking 😔. It's a huge safety risk on our highways and needs to be addressed ASAP. We need more stringent measures in place to ensure these trucks are driven by safe hands 🚚💨. RIP Clarence & Lisa, my thoughts are with your family and the entire Pomona High School community 💕😢

Ugh, just saw this news and its really got me thinking 🤕. I mean, what if that truck driver was paying attention to the road and didn't crash? Three innocent lives lost because of someone else's mistake... it's just so senseless 😩. And now we're talking about how a lack of English proficiency is affecting road safety 🚗💡. Like, come on, we can train these drivers or something! 🤷‍♂️ It's not like this is the first time it's happened and won't happen again. We need to think about more than just deporting people when they mess up... maybe there's a way to fix their skills before they're released back out into society? 🤔

OMG, this is just so sad 🤕...I know some people might be like "he should've never been driving a truck" but come on, we can't just blame the person who got caught up in an accident, you feel? Poor Jashanpreet Singh, he's just 21 and made a mistake that cost lives...and now he's facing consequences for it. I'm all about second chances, and if anyone needs one, it's him 🤗. We gotta be careful not to jump to conclusions or make assumptions about people based on their immigration status...we don't know his whole story, right? The fact that he failed the English test just means he wasn't prepared for driving in America yet, that's all. Can we please focus on supporting the victims' families instead of harshing Jashanpreet's vibe? 🤝

Ugh 🙄 this whole thing is just heartbreaking - two families, including a school coach and his wife, have lost their loved ones in such a senseless crash. It's like, what even is the point of all these truck driver tests if they're not gonna pass? I mean, we all know that language skills are super important for safety on the roads... it's just crazy that this guy failed the test and still got to drive around with his license 🚗😡. And now we gotta worry about more people getting hurt or worse because of some poor communication skills behind the wheel. It's just, like, so preventable, you know?

This high-speed crash on I-10 Freeway is a sobering reminder of the precarious nature of life and the importance of prioritizing road safety. The fact that an illegal immigrant, despite being released from immigration custody under the Biden administration, was involved in such a fatal accident raises concerns about the vetting process for commercial drivers. The lack of proficiency in English can indeed pose a risk to public safety. It's disheartening to hear that the 21-year-old driver failed English-language tests required by federal regulations 🚗💔

Man that's such a devastating crash... the fact that two innocent people lost their lives instantly is just heartbreaking 🤕. It's crazy that this guy was released from immigration custody despite failing those English language tests - it just raises so many questions about accountability and safety on our roads. I mean, can't we do better to prevent something like this from happening again? The school community is definitely feeling the impact with Coach Nelson being a beloved figure, but at least we can hope that his passing leads to some much-needed changes in how we regulate truck drivers 🚨💡.
