I'm not sure if I love this move by JB Pritzker or totally hate it ... like, can't we just find a middle ground on this whole immigrant debate? The guy's trying to protect people's rights and all that's cool, but isn't it also kinda undermining federal authority? And what about the impact on local law enforcement? Won't they have to deal with even more complicated situations now? On the other hand, I totally get why Pritzker is stepping up – those immigration crackdowns in Chicago were pretty brutal... so yeah, I guess it's a good thing he's doing something about it . The thing is, I'm not even sure if this is going to make things better or just create more problems down the line...
this is so interesting... i mean, think about it... the government's actions can be seen as a reflection of our society's values... or lack thereof ... we're still grappling with what it means to be humane in a world where borders are increasingly fluid... and yet, here we are, debating whether certain laws help keep us safe or infringe upon people's rights ... pritzker's statement feels like a much-needed balm for our collective anxiety... maybe it's time we start valuing empathy over division
I'm loving this move by Governor Pritzker ! As someone who's lived in the US all their life, it's crazy to see how some folks still can't understand that immigrants are just people trying to make a better life for themselves & their families. The fact that most immigrant detainees have no prior convictions is so obvious yet still gets swept under the rug . It's time for politicians to stop playing politics with people's lives & focus on creating real solutions that benefit everyone!
OMG I'm literally SO proud of Gov Pritzker for taking such a huge step towards protecting our immigrant friends in Illinois!!! This law is like, totally needed in this country right now and I'm so glad he's standing up to the Trump administration . I mean, have you seen those stats on immigrant detainees? Like, most of them have ZERO convictions , it's just not fair to judge an entire group of people based on a few bad apples. This law is all about human rights and dignity, and I am HERE for it!
