In reversal, Trump says House Republicans should vote to release Epstein files

US President Donald Trump has made a surprise U-turn on his stance regarding the release of sensitive files related to Jeffrey Epstein, stating that House Republicans should vote in favor of unsealing the documents.

In a recent post on his Truth Social platform, Trump suggested that the Republican-controlled House should back the legislation aimed at forcing the full disclosure of Justice Department files on the late financier. He claimed that there is nothing to hide and it's time to move on from what he describes as a "Democrat Hoax" perpetuated by the Radical Left.

The reversal comes after weeks of tension between Trump and his own party over the release of Epstein-related documents, which has taken on renewed significance given Epstein's history of connections with prominent Democrats, including former President Bill Clinton. The president had previously insisted that he severed ties with Epstein years ago, and there is no evidence to suggest he was directly involved in any wrongdoing.

The push for transparency comes after a bipartisan bill was successfully brought to the floor by lawmakers from both parties, led by Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna of California and Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky. The bill would require the release of documents related to all investigations into Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell within 30 days.

House GOP leaders aim to hold a vote on Tuesday on legislation that would force the full disclosure of Justice Department files, which sources familiar with the matter say they are confident will pass with bipartisan support. The development has raised hopes among advocates for transparency that the Senate may eventually take up the bill, paving the way for a wider release of sensitive information about Epstein's associates and dealings.

The move comes as lawmakers continue to dig into the circumstances surrounding Epstein's death in 2019 at a Manhattan correctional facility while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

"Out of sight, out of mind." 🙅‍♂️ It seems like Trump is trying to shift the focus away from himself and his connections to Epstein. The Republican-controlled House should keep pushing for transparency, especially since there's no evidence to suggest Trump was directly involved in any wrongdoing. The public has a right to know what happened at that correctional facility and why Epstein's associates are still under investigation.

man I'm shocked trump is suddenly all for releasing epstein docs now that it could reflect badly on his own party 🤯. seems like a classic case of "opposition research" - you can bet the democrats are doing some digging and trying to paint trump in a bad light 🔍. but honestly, shouldn't we just want transparency? shouldn't we know what really went down with epstein's dealings? it's been years since he died and we still don't know much 🕵️‍♂️. I guess the real question is - why did trump change his mind now? is it a genuine effort for transparency or just a clever PR move? 🤔

💬 The more I think about it, the more I'm like "what's going on here?" Trump just changed his mind out of the blue? Like he was playing with fire and realized the heat is still on. I wonder if there's something that's not being shared. This whole thing is super sketchy and I'm not buying the whole "Democrat Hoax" narrative 😒. It seems like someone's trying to keep something under wraps, but who knows? 🤔 The fact that it's bipartisan now might be a good sign, maybe we'll finally get some answers about Epstein's connections and what really went down.

man I'm loving this sudden change of heart from Trump 🤦‍♂️... now that he's backing the release of those Epstein docs, it's like he's trying to move forward and be all about transparency 💼... but let's be real, if there's nothing to hide, why did he try to block it in the first place? 🤔 and I'm still not buying into this "Democrat Hoax" stuff - seems like a classic case of "I got caught doing something shady, now blame others for covering my tracks" 😒... anyway, this bipartisan bill is looking good and hopefully it'll get some real answers about Epstein's dealings 💡

omg u guys i cant believe trump is trying to push for the release of those epstein files he was so sure back then that there was nothing shady going down but now hes saying its time to move on from the hoax 🤷‍♂️ i mean we all know how much drama can go down when money and power are involved. lets hope the truth finally comes out and justice is served 💪
