I'm like super curious about this pet sleep thing
... so I was reading that dogs and cats are wired to take lots of short naps throughout the day? Like, what's up with that? Are they just conserving energy or something? And can we really trust our own observations about their sleep patterns? I mean, don't we always think our pets are sleeping way more than they actually are?
And then there's this thing about red flags... like if my cat is sleeping way too much, it could be a sign of health issues. But how do I know what's normal for my pet? Is it just based on age and stuff? And what about sharing a bed with them? I love cuddling up with my furry friend at night, but I guess some pets can disrupt our sleep.
I'm also wondering... why is it that dogs who get more restful sleep are less stressed and have better mental health? Is it because they're getting more physical activity or something? And what about all these studies on pet sleep in lab settings? Do we think those results apply to real-life situations?
