New York Post editorial board calls for Curtis Sliwa to quit mayoral race to stop Zohran Mamdani

The New York City mayoral race is shaping up to be a disaster, and it's time for Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa to face reality. If he doesn't quit the race now, he'll inadvertently clear the way for avowed socialist Zohran Mamdani to take the reins, bringing with him a trail of destruction that will ravage the city.

It's not about Sliwa's personal fault; it's about the fact that New York is in desperate straits. The city's best hope to avoid this catastrophe is for Sliwa to drop out and allow a more viable candidate, like Andrew Cuomo, to take center stage. If he stays in the race, and Cuomo loses by a landslide, Sliwa will be left holding the bag โ€“ and so will the people of New York.

The polling numbers are stark: Mamdani is a distant second, with Sliwa trailing behind in third place. The Republican nominee's chances are zero, making it essential for him to exit the race before it's too late. If he doesn't, the consequences will be dire, and the city's residents will suffer the brunt of his disastrous policies.

Sliwa has done some good in this campaign, getting briefed on the issues and crisscrossing the city every day. However, his sometimes-shady past and lack of relevant experience make him an oddball candidate who can't be trusted to run a behemoth like city government.

The New York Post is calling for Sliwa's exit because he's a liability in this critical election. If Republicans had come up with a more credible candidate, they would likely be demanding that Cuomo drop out already. But the fact remains that Mamdani poses an existential threat to the lives of all New Yorkers โ€“ and he must be stopped.

It's not an easy pill for Sliwa to swallow, but for the sake of the city, it's time for him to admit reality. If the Republican Party wants to be a viable alternative to the Democrats, they need to do better than this. And if that means dropping out of the mayoral race and allowing a more capable candidate to take the stage, then so be it. The people of New York deserve nothing less.

I'm low-key shocked that Curtis Sliwa is still in the running ๐Ÿ˜•. I mean, he's done some good things, but his shady past ๐Ÿคฅ and lack of experience are major red flags ๐Ÿšจ. Zohran Mamdani might be a wild card, but at least Cuomo has some semblance of normalcy in his background ๐Ÿ™. If Sliwa stays in the race, he's gonna end up with egg on his face ๐Ÿ˜‚, and who knows what kind of damage that'll do to the city? I think it's time for him to step down and let a more viable candidate take the reins ๐Ÿ’ช.

I'm really worried about what's happening with Curtis Sliwa in the NYC mayoral race ๐Ÿค•. I mean, if he doesn't drop out now, Zohran Mamdani is gonna win for sure and it'll be a total disaster ๐Ÿ’ฅ. The city needs someone with some real experience to run the place, not just some radio personality ๐Ÿ˜‚. Andrew Cuomo would've been a much better choice in my opinion ๐Ÿค”. Sliwa's done some good things, I guess, but his past is pretty shady and he doesn't have the chops to lead the city ๐Ÿšซ. The polling numbers are crazy, with Mamdani leading way out in front ๐Ÿ‘€. It's time for Sliwa to face reality and step aside, even if it's hard for him to swallow ๐Ÿ’”. The city needs a winner, not some long shot candidate who'll probably tank the economy ๐Ÿ“‰. Fingers crossed Cuomo stays in the race ๐Ÿคž.

I gotta say, I'm all for Curtis Sliwa getting outta the mayoral race ๐Ÿค”. Don't get me wrong, the dude's been doing some good on the campaign trail, crisscrossing the city and all that jazz ๐Ÿ˜Š. But at the end of the day, he just can't compete with Zohran Mamdani's socialist vibes ๐Ÿšซ.

And let's be real, Sliwa's got a shady past, you know? I'm not saying it's enough to disqualify him from running, but when you're talking about the mayor of New York City, you need someone who can be trusted with the city's wallet ๐Ÿ’ธ. And Sliwa just doesn't have that credibility factor going for him.

So yeah, if Republicans want a shot at taking down Cuomo, they should probably stick with Andrew and ditch Sliwa ๐Ÿšซ. The dude's not exactly lighting up the polls, and Mamdani is like a dark horse or something ๐ŸŽ. It's time to face reality, Curtis โ€“ you're not gonna win this thing ๐Ÿ˜….

I'm low-key worried about Curtis Sliwa's chances in the NYC mayoral race ๐Ÿคฏ. I mean, Zohran Mamdani is like a ticking time bomb over there ๐Ÿ’ฃ, and if Sliwa doesn't get out now, he'll be stuck with the blame ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. The city needs someone who can actually lead, you know? Cuomo's the only one who seems viable right now ๐Ÿคž. And let's be real, Sliwa's history is kinda shady...it's hard to trust him in charge ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I think it's time for him to step down and save himself (and the city) from a potential disaster ๐Ÿ˜ณ

I'm low-key thinking Sliwa should just chill for now, you know? He's already doing some good by showing up and talking about issues. But with Mamdani being a total wild card... ๐Ÿ˜ณ I mean, have you seen his policies? They're like something straight outta a dystopian movie ๐Ÿฟ. Cuomo's the real MVP here โ€“ he's got experience, he's got money... he's got everything that Sliwa can only dream of ๐Ÿ’ธ. Plus, the polling numbers are just brutal for Sliwa ๐Ÿ˜…. It's time for him to pivot and let someone with a better shot at winning take the reins. The city needs a leader who can actually do some real damage control ๐Ÿšง, not just wave their arms and pretend like everything is gonna be okay ๐Ÿ’ช.

come on ๐Ÿ™„, Sliwa can't just drop out because he's not good enough? that's not how democracy works... the problem is Cuomo is still in there and has way more experience than Sliwa or Mamdani... Sliwa might be a bit of a wild card, but at least he's been out on the streets listening to the people... Mamdani just sounds like some radical who wants to ruin the city ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

lololol Sliwa thinks he's got what it takes? Newsflash: you don't ๐Ÿคฃ. This city is in shambles and Mamdani's gonna make it worse ๐Ÿšฎ. But hey, at least Curtis gets to be the comedic relief in this mess ๐Ÿ˜‚. Seriously though, if the GOP wants to win back NYC, they need a real candidate not some guy with a mic and a bad haircut ๐Ÿ˜’. Cuomo's still got this one, but only just ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™‚๏ธ. Time for Sliwa to exit stage left ๐Ÿ‘‹, it's time for him to admit reality ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. The city needs someone who can lead, not just talk the talk ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ.

omg can u believe this?! Sliwa needs 2 step down ASAP ๐Ÿคฏ Mamdani is literally going 2 ruin NYC and Cuomo's my only hope ๐Ÿ’ช but seriously, Republicans need 2 bring their A game if they wanna compete with the Dems... it's not that hard to see why the people are so against Sliwa tho - his past is pretty sketchy ๐Ÿ˜ณ and Cuomo's got experience on his side ๐Ÿ™Œ so let's all just hope for the best & keep our fingers crossed for a better future NYC ๐Ÿ’•

omg, can u believe this? Curtis Sliwa thinks he's got a shot at winning but honestly he's just setting himself up for failure ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. Andrew Cuomo would've been a way better candidate imo, and now the city is stuck with this socialist disaster waiting to happen ๐Ÿคฏ. I mean i get it, NYC is in a tough spot, but we can't afford to have some shady past and no experience run the city ๐Ÿšซ. what's even more crazy is that Sliwa did do some good in his campaign, like getting briefed on issues etc... but sometimes being a politician just requires more than just a good attitude ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ.

omg u gotta see this!!!! Curtis Sliwa needs 2 drop out now!!! he's doin sum good but his shady past & lack of exp is hella questionable ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Mamdani, tho... that guy's like a ticking time bomb ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’ฃ! NYC needs someone w/ Cuomo's chops 2 take care of this city. if Sliwa stays in the race & loses bigtime, he'll b the one holding the bag ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ‘Ž
