Beloved Actor Michael DeLano Passes Away at 84

Michael DeLano, the talented actor and singer who gained fame for his roles in TV shows like "Rhoda" and the films "Ocean's Eleven," has passed away. The veteran actor was just 84 years old when he succumbed to a fatal heart attack on October 20, according to his wife Jean DeLano.

A prolific performer, DeLano enjoyed a long and varied career in show business, taking on numerous roles in TV shows and films. Born Michael Ace Del Fatti, he first gained recognition as a regular dancer on the popular music program "American Bandstand" while still living in his hometown of Philadelphia. He also served in the Army before pursuing a record deal, acting in stage musicals, and eventually adopting the stage name Michael DeLano.

One of DeLano's most notable roles came when he joined the cast of "Rhoda" as Johnny Venture, a lounge singer who becomes romantically involved with Rhoda, played by Valerie Harper. The show, which was a spinoff of the hit series "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," ran for three seasons and cemented DeLano's reputation as a talented performer.

In addition to his work on "Rhoda," DeLano appeared in numerous other TV shows, including "Wonder Woman," "Starsky and Hutch," "Charlie's Angels," and "Hill Street Blues." He also lent his voice to several films, including the classic Arnold Schwarzenegger movie "Commando."

DeLano's later career saw him take on a more subtle role as a casino manager in the 2001 film "Ocean's Eleven" and its 2004 sequel, "Ocean's Twelve." His final acting stint was in two episodes of the TV show "Royal Pains" in 2012.

In recent years, DeLano focused on music, performing regularly at the Dispensary Lounge on Tropicana Avenue in Las Vegas. The news of his passing comes as a shock to fans and fellow performers who will miss his talent and dedication to his craft.

DeLano is survived by his wife, one daughter, and three grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy of memorable performances that will be cherished for years to come.

man πŸ˜” just heard about michael de lano passing away at 84 it's crazy how fast time flies he had such an iconic career from american bandstand to rhoda and all those other shows πŸ“Ί i'm gonna miss seeing him on screen but his legacy lives on through his music and the characters he brought to life πŸŽ€πŸ’•

I'm kinda disappointed he's gone πŸ€”... but I mean, 84 is still pretty old and it's crazy how he was still performing music in Vegas like just yesterday? πŸ’ƒπŸ˜± I always loved him on "Rhoda" as Johnny Venture, but at the same time, I never really watched the rest of his shows... like, who needs to know about his roles in "Wonder Woman" or whatever 😴

But you know what? I don't really care that much πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. It's not like he was a huge influence on me or anything... unless... wait, nope, still can't decide if I'm right or wrong about this πŸ˜‚.

I just got back from the most amazing trip to Tokyo πŸ—ΊοΈ last month! I mean, have you ever been to an actual video game arcade? It's like stepping into a time machine! I spent hours playing classic games and eating delicious food at this tiny little place called Ichiran. Their tonkotsu ramen is life-changing πŸ’¦. Anyway, back to Michael DeLano... it's crazy how some people can just switch between acting, singing, and even managing casinos like that. What's his secret? Do you think his long career had anything to do with being in the Army? I've been meaning to try out a new coffee shop down the street too πŸŽƒ

πŸ€• Just heard about Michael DeLano's passing πŸ™ he was like a OG in the entertainment industry πŸ’Ό I remember watching "Rhoda" as a kid and loving his character Johnny Venture 😎 it's crazy how his career spanned so many decades and genres 🎬 from music to film to TV shows πŸ‘ what's wild is that he was still performing and singing at this age, it's a testament to his dedication to his craft πŸ’ͺ anyway, his legacy will live on through all the iconic roles he played πŸ“ΊπŸ’«

man thats sad πŸ€• michael de lano was such an icon in the industry, you couldnt help but love his energy on screen, always bringing that charm and charisma to every role he took on. i remember watching "rhoda" as a kid and just being hooked on his character johnny venture πŸ˜‚. the thing is, even though hes gone now, his legacy lives on through all the amazing work he did, and im sure we'll be seeing more of him in old reruns for years to come ❀️

πŸ™ He was more than just an actor, you know? I mean, the guy had this effortless charm on screen that made you wanna watch him all day long. But what really struck me is how versatile he was - from his early days as a dancer on "American Bandstand" to becoming a lounge singer on "Rhoda", and then moving into films like "Ocean's Eleven". He just seemed to adapt to whatever role came his way, always bringing this level of likability that made you root for him. And it's not like he was just a one-hit wonder or anything - he had a long career spanning decades, which is no easy feat. I'm so sad to see him go πŸ’”

😒 so sorry to hear about Michael DeLano... he was an iconic actor with so many awesome roles under his belt 🎬 I always loved him in "Rhoda" - who wouldn't want to watch Johnny Venture croon and flirt with Rhoda all those years ago? 😊 anyway, it's crazy that he was still performing music live at the age of 84... that's dedication! πŸ’ͺ I bet it won't be long before we're seeing tributes and documentaries celebrating his incredible career πŸŽ₯

πŸ€” something fishy about this, you know? 84 yrs old and suddenly he's just gone? No warning signs? His career just kinda...phoned it in lately? πŸ€‘ I mean, no new projects announced before his passing? And only recently started focusing on music? That's some weird timing. What if there was more to his "heart attack" than meets the eye? πŸ’Š Maybe he was onto something big and they silenced him to keep it under wraps? 🀫 Nah, probably just a random health issue...but still, can't shake the feeling that something's off πŸ˜’

Man, 84's kinda old to just die from a heart attack πŸ€•. I mean, what even is this world anymore? One minute you're dancing on "American Bandstand" and the next you're playing Johnny Venture on "Rhoda". It's like, what happened to all that talent? Did he even get any benefits or did it just get squished by the insurance companies? And now we're all stuck in a weird digital limbo where we gotta find out about his passing from some random news feed πŸ“°. I don't know man, it's just one more thing that makes me question our society's obsession with technology...

idk why people are so nostalgic about michael delano... he was just another actor who got lucky with some good roles πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. i mean don't get me wrong, he was talented and all but let's not forget there were plenty of other actors who could've played those same parts. and can we talk about how many "classic" films he was in? like, commando? really? that movie is so overhyped 🀣. anyway, i guess it's sad that he's gone, but let's not make him out to be some kind of legend just yet 😊
