Sign up for The Long Wave newsletter: our weekly Black life and culture email

just signed up for this thing 🤔... been feelin like we're gettin stuck in these info bubbles where everything is just echo chamber'd to our own views, so it's dope to have a centralized spot that brings together all this diverse stuff about black culture and experiences 💻... can't wait to dive in & learn more about the world beyond my own bubble 🌎

omg i just got a free newsletter about black culture from the guardian 📣💡 sounds so cool! i feel like my knowledge of black stuff is super limited lol what's "the long wave" supposed to be like? is it like a news site or more like a blog? and why do they have a person named nesrine malik curating all these stories, does she get paid for it? 🤑

Ugh, I mean, The Guardian's trying to do good here, but their newsletter is just so... bland 🙄. It's like they're relying on the fact that we'll automatically subscribe because it's free 💸. What if we don't want more Black life and culture in our inboxes? Can't they offer a way to customize or even opt-out? The lack of control is kinda annoying 😒. Plus, what about people who don't have an email address? Do they really expect us to download something just to sign up? It's all so... 2025 🤦‍♀️.

I'm loving this initiative from The Guardian 🤩! Filling knowledge gaps about communities of color is a crucial step towards fostering empathy and understanding. Nesrine Malik's curation of 'The Long Wave' seems like a great way to amplify the voices and stories that often get overlooked in mainstream media. It's also fantastic that it's free and ad-free - I think this is exactly what we need more of on the internet these days 🙌. By making this content accessible to everyone, The Guardian is taking a huge step towards promoting inclusivity and diversity in their coverage of Black life and culture. Can't wait to dive into each week's issue! 👍

🤯 I just signed up for The Long Wave 📦💖 and I'm so hyped! It's about time we got more diverse perspectives on our feeds, you know? I mean, Black voices have been missing from the mainstream media for far too long, and this is a major step in the right direction. 100% free? 🤑 come on! Anyone can benefit from this and it's not like it's asking for much. Nesrine Malik sounds like an awesome host, btw. I love how they're focused on Black arts, literature, music, film... the whole spectrum! It's gonna be so interesting to see what kind of stories get shared each week. Bring on the knowledge 💡!
