I'm not sure if I'm being too harsh but I think My Best Friend's Wedding has aged kinda poorly . I mean, it's still a fun watch and all, but some of the jokes and tropes are super cheesy now . Julia Roberts is still amazing though - she really brings Julianne to life, even if her character can be kinda frustrating at times . And can we talk about how ridiculous that ice sculpture scene was? I love it, but also kind of cringeworthy . The movie's message about self-love is great and all, but sometimes it feels a bit too simplistic for my taste . Still watchin' this flick from '97 and it feels like yesterday . Julia Roberts is perfection as that crazy bestie. The movie's not just a romcom, it's about growth & finding yourself too .
