‘Teach kids internet bollocks, not my old rubbish,’ says Shakespeare: the Stephen Collins cartoon

lol @ shakespeare's 'my old rubbish' 🤣 i think collins is trying 2 say that our fave old books & songs r not as cool 2 us no more cuz of all the new stuff out there, but in a funny way. like, who hasn't scrolled thru their internet history 4 hours 2nite 🕰️ and just laughed @ how much rubbish they used 2 watch? 🤣 it's like shakespeare is saying "hey kids, dont fall 4 that online hype" but in a witty, cartoonish way 🤪

omg this cartoon is SO relatable lol can't believe shakespeare's "old rubbish" refers to the clickbait headlines we scroll through daily 🤣 it's crazy how he was warning about the dangers of modern media 400 yrs ago and it still rings true today 🚀 gotta give props to collins for making a point about our internet culture 😂

omg I feel like shakespeare was totally trolling us when he said that 🤣 his stuff is still relevant but like, who needs to read actual books anymore? just scrolling thru tiktok and insta is enough for me lol anyway i think collins' cartoon is so underrated, it's like a scathing commentary on our online addiction 📱👀

🤦‍♂️ I feel like this cartoon is actually kinda fitting for today's online landscape tbh. I mean, think about it - we're still getting 'clickbait' headlines and 'viral challenges' that are just a recipe for disaster 🙅‍♂️. Shakespeare might've written some of the greatest plays ever, but I'm pretty sure he'd be like " omg dont watch that cat video its ruining ur life lol" 😂. Anyways, it's dope to see someone using his work to comment on our online shenanigans 🤓

I'm like totally confused by this news 🤯. So Shakespeare's trying to warn kids about the dangers of the internet, but he's using old-fashioned language that's kinda...ironic? Like, if you're gonna talk about the state of modern media, maybe use some modern slang? 🤷‍♂️ It's like, if I were Stephen Collins, I'd make fun of how Shakespeare is being all out of touch with current events. But at the same time, it's kinda cool that people are still talking about his stuff 400+ years later 📚. Maybe we should just take a step back and have an actual conversation about online safety instead of relying on memes? 😊

I feel like Shakespeare's "my old rubbish" is so relatable when it comes to scrolling through TikTok 🤣 my kids are always showing me those funny memes and I'm over here thinking 'that's just old stuff, move on!' But seriously though, Collins' cartoon is actually really clever - it highlights how even something as classic as Shakespeare can be used to talk about the quirks of online culture today 💻. And let's be real, who hasn't spent hours scrolling through their browser history, wondering where all that time went? 😂
