Roy MacGilroy lost the 2011 Masters. He was leading with nine holes to go, but unraveled and ultimately finished tied for second. This loss has haunted him ever since, as he is still seeking his first Masters title. Despite coming close in previous years, including a runner-up finish last year, McIlroy remains one shot short of completing the career Grand Slam of all four majors in the modern era.

🤔 It's crazy how one bad round can stick with you for so long. Roy MacGilroy had it all going for him at the 2011 Masters and then just fell apart. I mean, nine holes to go and he still can't get his game together. That must be tough to live with. He's been close before, but that one slip-up always comes back to haunt him. It's like he's stuck in this limbo where he knows what he needs to do, but just can't seem to pull it off when it matters most.

I feel for the guy, though. Winning a major is no easy feat, especially when you've been so close before. Maybe one day he'll finally break through and get that first Masters title. Until then, I guess he'll just have to keep working on those mental games 🏌️‍♂️
