The moment I knew: he was so open and vulnerable, even as a bloke’s bloke

For me, it was that first barbecue when "Jungle Jim", an ex-air force bloke with four kids, walked into the room. I remember wearing a white skirt and orange shirt; he came in with boots and jeans carrying a big cooler. Twenty years later, he still has those same items.

He was loud, charming, yet presented as such an alpha male - you wouldn't expect him to be vulnerable about mental health struggles. But there he was, being open about his rough past after separation. When my friend asked me what I thought of him, I blurted out that I could fall in love with this man.

It wasn't long before we'd taken all six kids on a family holiday to Thailand and moved in together. We had so much in common - our international backgrounds and parents' experiences as engineers who worked abroad. The only thing missing was the ring, but Jim surprised me by proposing at the Taj Mahal during sunset viewing.

When I asked him if he was worried about rejection, his response made my heart skip a beat: "I was more worried about what would happen to me if I didn't ask you." That's when it clicked - this softness, care, and loyalty were beneath the bloke's tough exterior.

OMG, this guy is literally the ultimate romantic 💘🔥! I mean, who proposes at the Taj Mahal during sunset?! 🌅 It's like he was trying to prove that even though he might seem tough on the outside, he's got a super soft spot for his partner 😊. And can we talk about how relatable it is when you find someone with similar backgrounds and interests as you? I've been there too, and it makes all the difference 💕! The way he's so open about his mental health struggles too... it just shows how brave and vulnerable he is as a person 💖. Anyway, I'm totally shipping this couple 🚣‍♀️👫!!!

OMG, yaaas 🤩 that's soooo romantic! It sounds like Jim had a major crush on her from day one, but kept his true feelings hidden behind that rugged air force exterior 💪. And isn't it amazing how he opened up about his mental health struggles and proved to be more vulnerable than anyone thought? 🤗 His proposal at the Taj Mahal is literally the most dreamy thing ever! ✨ I'm living for those sunset vibes ❤️. The fact that he was worried about what would happen to him if she said no shows us that he's truly invested in their relationship 💕. They're like, total #powercouple goals 👫💯.

OMG I'm totally shipping Jungle Jim from day one! 🤩 his backstory is so inspiring, going from being an ex-air force bloke to being open about mental health struggles - talk about vulnerability 💔! And can we talk about how charming he is? I mean, who wouldn't fall for that smile 😊. I love how he surprised you with a proposal at the Taj Mahal - such romance 💕! And his response when you asked if he was worried about rejection... honestly gives me all the feels 🤗!

😊 I think its so cool how he broke that rough exterior and showed his vulnerable side. It takes courage to be open about mental health struggles, especially for someone who might seem like they have it all together on the outside 💕. Its beautiful how your friend fell in love with him for who he is, not just what he can do or provide. And omg that proposal at the Taj Mahal sounds like a dream come true 🙏! Its clear you two are meant to be and I'm so happy for you both 😊💗

Ugh, is it too much for them to have some decent editing on these stories? The writing all over the place makes it hard to even take in what's being said 🙄. And what's with the meandering intro, feels like a whole separate article or something. Just give us the real talk about Jungle Jim already! 👀

Can you believe how some people can just be so genuine and open with their struggles? Like, being an "alpha male" doesn't mean you're immune to having mental health issues, you know? And it's amazing that this dude was brave enough to share his past with others and then found someone who loves him for who he is. I'm shipping them from the start! 💕😍 It's also crazy how finding someone who shares similar backgrounds and values can just click into place and make you feel like "this is it". And that proposal at the Taj Mahal? 🤩 what a romantic move!

OMG 🤯 he sounds like such a great guy 💕 i love how he opened up about his struggles & showed us that being vulnerable doesn't make him any less 'alpha' 😎 i'm shipping him & your friend from day one 💏 their love story is giving me all the feels ❤️ and proposal at the Taj Mahal? 🔥 that's just next level! 💕

😊 So I'm reading about this guy Jungle Jim who's like a total alpha male but has this super vulnerable side when it comes to mental health struggles. And honestly, I think that takes a lot of courage - most guys wouldn't be so open about their emotions. It's refreshing to see him break free from the whole tough exterior thing and show us his soft and caring side.

I love how he proposed at the Taj Mahal, too! That's like, super romantic. And what I think is really beautiful about their relationship is that they came from different backgrounds but found common ground - international experiences, parents working abroad... it sounds like they balanced each other out nicely.

It's also sweet how he said he was more worried about what would happen to him if he didn't ask her to marry him. That shows a level of trust and commitment that's hard to come by in relationships. All in all, their story is really inspiring!

omg i loved that story 🤩! its so inspiring to see how jungle jim went from being a tough air force bloke to finding love with someone who brought out his softer side ❤️. i think its amazing how mental health struggles can be more common than we realize, especially in guys 🤝. and omg the proposal at the taj mahal sounds like a dream come true 😍! its clear that jim has found his perfect match 💕

🤩 OMG, that's such an amazing love story! I'm living for Jim's vulnerability and openness about his mental health struggles 🌟 it takes so much courage to talk about that stuff, especially for guys who are perceived as "alpha males" 💪. And the way he proposed at the Taj Mahal sounds like a fairy tale 💫. What I love most is how you say he had a tough exterior but was actually super soft and caring beneath the surface 😍. It's all about finding that balance, right? 💕

Can't even imagine having that level of emotional depth with someone like Jungle Jim LOL 🤣 just kidding sorta... but seriously though, it's crazy how some people can be all rough on the outside and still have these super soft spots 💕 I mean, who needs a fancy ring when you've got a heart of gold, right? 💎 And that proposal at the Taj Mahal? 🙌 totally swoon-worthy. But honestly, it's not about the grand gestures, it's about finding someone who can appreciate your quirks and flaws... like having four kids and carrying around the same cooler from 20 years ago 😂

I think its awesome how Jim shared his struggles with mental health & got such an amazing response 🤩 from his future wife! It shows that vulnerability is super attractive & can be a huge turning point in building strong relationships 💕. People often talk about finding someone who's their 'soulmate', but it sounds like Jim found someone who not only accepts him for who he is, but also loves him even more because of all the layers he brings to the table 🌈. Its great that they shared so many experiences together & have built a life as a family - its clear that love can conquer all! 💖

😒 I don't get why they're making a whole episode of their show just because Jim proposed at the Taj Mahal 🤷‍♀️ it's not like it was some grand romantic gesture or anything 💁‍♀️. Like, he asked her and she said yes... that's it 🙄 I mean, what's the drama here? And what's with all these flashbacks to their early days together? It's just a bunch of old photos and rehashing their entire relationship history 📸😴 Can't they just move on already? 👀

OMG, have u seen the stats on men's mental health? 🤯 1 in 4 guys experience anxiety or depression! 🚨 And now we're seeing more ex-soldiers like Jungle Jim speaking out about their struggles... it's like, so inspiring to see a "tough guy" vulnerable and open about his emotions 😊

Did u know that men are less likely to seek help for mental health issues compared to women? 🤔 Only 1 in 5 men will talk about their feelings with someone else! 💬 I'm loving the fact that Jim broke those stereotypes, though... he's proof that you don't have to be a certain way to be vulnerable and strong 😌

By the way, here are some cool facts: 📊
- The average couple goes on around 3-4 dates before getting engaged 💘
- Men spend an avg of $40k more on their partner than women 👫
- Couples who share similar interests (like international backgrounds and parents working abroad) have a 35% higher success rate at marriage 📈

😂🤦‍♂️ Umm, no way! Like, I gotta disagree with myself... I think the dude was actually kinda creepy 🙅‍♂️. All that sudden romanticizing over him? Give me a break! He starts off as this loud, confident guy but then just drops all his tough-guy act and pours his heart out about mental health struggles? That's either super brave or super messed up... I mean, which one is it?! 🤔 And what's with the proposal at the Taj Mahal? That sounds like a total tourist trap 💸. But on the other hand... *sigh*... maybe there's something to be said for looking beyond the surface level and finding someone who's actually vulnerable and genuine 😊. Ugh, my brain hurts from all these conflicting thoughts! 🤯

I'm low-key impressed by how far that ex-Air Force guy has come 🤯 He's like a human embodiment of the saying "don't judge a book by its cover". I mean, who would've thought that the 'tough alpha male' would be vulnerable about his mental health struggles and end up proposing at one of the most romantic spots on earth? It's like he finally found someone who truly gets him 💕 I'm rooting for these two to make it work and show us all that love can conquer even the toughest exterior 😊

You know what struck me about Jim's story? It reminded me of how politics can be all about presentation vs reality. We often think of politicians as one-dimensional figures but then you hear their personal stories and realize there's so much more to them. Like, who would've thought that a tough Air Force bloke could be vulnerable about mental health struggles? It's like they say: don't judge a book by its cover. Just like how Jim wasn't afraid to show his softer side, we should give our leaders the same chance to reveal their humanity. Maybe it's time for politicians to share more of themselves and not just stick to party lines 🤔

Ugh that's just so cliché... I mean don't get me wrong, he's all charming and stuff but it sounds like a classic "tortured soul" narrative that everyone loves . Like yeah, being in the air force is super tough (been there, done that) but it's not like he's the first guy to struggle with mental health after separation. And six kids?! That's just a recipe for disaster... or at least a lot of drama. I mean don't get me wrong, love and all that, but can we talk about how messy this all sounds?

omg i cant even... 😍 like who is this jungle jim dude?? he sounds soooo extra yet so lovable at the same time 🤣 i mean i love that he wasnt afraid to be vulnerable about his mental health and that he took a risk by proposing at the taj mahal during sunset viewing, thats just so romantic 💕 i need to get to know him, who is he, what does he do, where did he work abroad, lets find out more!! 🤔
