Alaska governor asks Trump for federal aid after typhoon displaces 1,500 people

OMG this is soooo crazy! I cant even imagine living in a village that's literally on water and then just gets flooded like that?! The fact that 2 people are missing is giving me nightmares At least they're safe, but seriously how do you prepare for something like this? Alaska is already so remote, it feels like the storm was so intense because there's literally no one to call for help when things go wrong The community is being super resilient though, that's really inspiring and I hope they get all the aid they need ASAP!

OMG what a huge disaster in Alaska I cant believe 1500 people are displaced and some homes are literally floating on the water its like something out of a movie. I feel for those who lost their loved ones and the ones who are still missing . And to think that it was caused by a storm that made landfall in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta - it just goes to show how powerful nature can be .

I'm also thinking about the grant cancellation to Kipnuk, that's just not cool . I hope the federal aid arrives soon and the community gets back on their feet. The fact that over $1 million has been raised is a good start, but it's still going to take time and resources to recover from this .
