Alaska governor asks Trump for federal aid after typhoon displaces 1,500 people

OMG 😱 this is soooo crazy! I cant even imagine living in a village that's literally on water 💧 and then just gets flooded like that?! The fact that 2 people are missing is giving me nightmares 😨😨🤕 At least they're safe, but seriously how do you prepare for something like this? 🤔 Alaska is already so remote, it feels like the storm was so intense because there's literally no one to call for help when things go wrong 📞💔 The community is being super resilient though, that's really inspiring ❤️ and I hope they get all the aid they need ASAP! 💕
 
OMG what a huge disaster in Alaska 🌪️😱 I cant believe 1500 people are displaced and some homes are literally floating on the water 🤯 its like something out of a movie. I feel for those who lost their loved ones and the ones who are still missing 🙏. And to think that it was caused by a storm that made landfall in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta - it just goes to show how powerful nature can be 💥.

I'm also thinking about the grant cancellation to Kipnuk, that's just not cool 😔. I hope the federal aid arrives soon and the community gets back on their feet. The fact that over $1 million has been raised is a good start, but it's still going to take time and resources to recover from this 💸.

I'm so sad for all the people affected by this disaster 🌧️. Can you imagine having your house float away in front of you? 😨 It's just heartbreaking. I hope everyone stays safe and gets the help they need ❤️.
 
ugh, great, just what we need, another natural disaster to add to the never-ending list... i mean, 1500 people displaced? that's just crazy! 🤯 and now they're having to rely on feds for aid? sounds like a typical government response to me... anyway, at least the community is resilient, Julia Stone's story gave me chills. 🌊 and yeah, those Trump admin cuts are no joke, small villages already struggling to make ends meet, and now they're just sitting ducks for natural disasters 🤦‍♀️
 
OMG this is insane! 🤯 1500 people displaced and a whole village floating away? That's just crazy talk. The fact that they had to call for help because their houses were literally turning into boats is just wild 😱. And now the community has been left with no water, sewer or well systems? That's like, basic human rights right there.

And what's even more messed up is that this happened because of some cuts made by the Trump admin 💸. Like, come on guys, you'd think they'd want to help out a bunch of poor villagers who are struggling to survive in the first place 🤔. But nope, instead we get them crying about their $20m grant being cancelled 🤑.

I'm so glad that some people are coming together to raise money for the evacuees though 🙏. It's going to be a tough road ahead, but I hope the federal aid can help alleviate some of the suffering. This is just devastating 😔
