A shooting at a homecoming celebration at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania has left one person dead and six others injured. The incident occurred on Saturday night, just before 9:30 p.m., during a post-football game celebratory tailgate and Yardfest event held in the parking lot of the International Cultural Center building.
According to authorities, a man who had brought a gun to the event was detained after one person, Jujuan Jeffers from Wilmington, Delaware, died. The victims are all 20-25 years old and are expected to survive their injuries.
Lincoln University police chief Marc Partee described the scene as chaotic, with people running in every direction after shots were fired. Witnesses reported seeing others being treated for injuries sustained while fleeing or being knocked to the ground.
The school was initially placed on lockdown but has since been lifted. Authorities believe there may have been multiple shooters involved, but a clear motive remains unclear. The DA's office stated that they are investigating with the full power of federal, state, and local law enforcement.
In response to the tragedy, Lincoln University President Brenda A. Allen's office released a statement saying the school is cooperating fully with authorities. Classes were canceled on Monday for a day of healing and reflection, while counseling services will be available all week.
The DA urged anyone with information about the shooting to come forward, promising that law enforcement would work tirelessly to identify those responsible.
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro expressed his support for President Allen and local law enforcement, urging everyone to avoid the area and join in praying for the Lincoln University community.

this is just so sad... a homecoming celebration turned into a nightmare, can't imagine how scared all those people must've been. it's crazy that there was more than one shooter involved, that makes everything even more complicated to figure out.

 - it's just common sense . But honestly tho , can we stop jumping to conclusions about the shooters ? Maybe they were just having a bad night, or maybe they were some kind of thrill-seeker who thought 6 people getting shot was a good laugh

And btw , why are we so quick to assume it was like some kinda school shooting rampage when we dont even know what happened yet ? I mean , the gov is already talking about lockdowns and prayer - lets just wait for the facts, ya know ?

. . I hope the victims who got injured are going to be okay, 6 others hurt is nothing compared to what the family of Jujuan Jeffers must be going through right now

. The lack of security at events like this is alarming, and it's just not good enough that one person died

The fact that multiple shooters may have been involved raises more questions than answers, but one thing is certain: our thoughts are with the victims' families and loved ones during this devastating time.
