. I mean, can you imagine all the essential services being cut off? It's not just about politicians arguing, it's about people's lives being affected. I don't get why both parties can't find common ground on spending levels - it's like they're speaking different languages

like seriously, what's the point of having lawmakers if they can't even agree on basic stuff? it feels like they're just playing politics with our lives 
and i'm not getting any younger waiting for them to figure it out. mark kelly makes a solid point about prioritizing the nation over party politics, but it sounds like both sides are dug in too deep to listen to each other

So, basically both parties are just trying to prove who's right and who's wrong... meanwhile, the country is going to shut down 
and that people might actually be affected by this nonsense. The fact that they can't even agree on something as simple as government spending levels says a lot about their priorities... or lack thereof 
. And now we've got Christine Lagarde trying to adult and tell them all to calm down, but I'm not holding my breath 
The thought of a government shutdown makes me think of that movie "Mr. Robot", where everything just falls apart...
