Average-but-arresting games used to be the backbone of the industry. What price perfection?

🙄 I'm still waiting for a game from a new IP to really wow me like the classics did. Bloodlines 2 is solid but it feels like another iteration of something we've seen before 🤔. And don't even get me started on how shallow the romance options are 😒. Where's the depth? The complexity? I mean, I know some people love a good 'flawed-but-fascinating' game, but I'm not buying it yet 💸. Still, I'll give credit where credit is due – the atmosphere and world-building in this game is top-notch 🌆. Maybe they just needed more time to get it right? The industry's move towards polished perfection is killing me, though 😩 – can't we appreciate a good mess anymore?! 🚮

😐 I gotta say, Bloodlines 2's messy development history actually kinda worked out for me? I mean, it's like the game is this weird, wonderful Frankenstein's monster - all its parts are a bit wonky, but somehow it still comes together to be pretty darn compelling. I love how it leans into that flawed-but-fascinating vibe, reminds me of those old-school games that were always a little rough around the edges but totally charming. 🤪

Man 🤯 I'm both excited and disappointed with Bloodlines 2... like, it's still a great game, but can't they have just put out something after five years instead of making us wait seven? 😩 The film noir vibe is on point tho 🎬, I love the gritty Seattle setting. And who doesn't want to flirt with vampires or lob sledgehammers at bad guys? 💥 But yeah, it's clear they took a risk by trying to innovate and experiment... some of that didn't quite work out 😐.

You know what's wild though? The nostalgia factor is huge here 🤯. I mean, games like Prototype and Deadly Premonition are classics, but not everyone gets 'em 💭. And yeah, the industry has changed so much... now it's all about "polished" and "appealing to a wide audience"... where's the risk-taking? 😅 The good news is that there's still room for games like Bloodlines 2 - flawed but fascinating ones that add something new to the table 💡.
