California 2026 governor candidates talk immigrant health care, ICE cooperation and sanctuary state status

I think it's interesting how these candidates have differing opinions on immigration. 🤔 On one hand, Xavier Becerra's stance makes sense - we can't just let anyone walk around without knowing who they are or what they're here for. At the same time, I feel bad for those undocumented folks trying to seek asylum or residency; they're just trying to survive.

It also makes me wonder why there can't be a middle ground? Like, maybe California could have some sort of program that provides health care and other services to immigrants who are going through the process, but not necessarily to those who are already here. 🤷‍♀️ That way, we're still being fair to everyone involved.

I'm also curious to see how this plays out in November 2026 - will Californians prioritize one candidate's stance over another? 🗳️
