CBS News ends over 60-year presence at Pentagon after declining to sign new press requirements

๐Ÿ“ฐ๐Ÿ˜ฑ just saw the news about CBS News closing its doors at the Pentagon... like, what's going on?! ๐Ÿค” This is huge for journalism! It's wild that all the major news orgs declined to sign onto those new press requirements... it's all about press freedom, right? ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ I feel bad for David Martin and the rest of the CBS News team who've been doing this for so long - they're basically being forced out of their own backyard! ๐Ÿ˜” The fact that only One America News Network agreed to the restrictions is just crazy... does that mean we'll see more outlets trying to silence journalists in the future? ๐Ÿคฏ As a journalist myself, it's terrifying to think about what could happen next. Can't wait to see how CBS News adapts and keeps on reporting! ๐Ÿ’ช

Its crazy how this is happening ๐Ÿคฏ. I mean, you gotta wonder what's going on behind closed doors at the Pentagon. Are they trying to control the narrative or something? It feels like a slippery slope, where they're just gonna keep pushing journalists around until we lose access to info altogether.

And what about press freedom, right? The First Amendment is in place for a reason ๐Ÿค. I'm not saying CBS News wasn't already getting preferential treatment, but this new policy just seems like an overreach. I mean, are they really gonna start censoring stories or something?

It's also interesting that some outlets like One America News Network agreed to the new restrictions ๐Ÿค”. What does that say about their priorities? Are they just more concerned with getting access than with telling the public what's really going on?

I guess we'll just have to wait and see how this plays out ๐Ÿ‘€. But one thing's for sure โ€“ as a society, we need to be vigilant about protecting press freedom. If we start losing access to honest reporting, that's when things get seriously problematic ๐Ÿšจ

๐Ÿ™Œ I'm not surprised but sad to see CBS News closing its doors at the Pentagon, it's been a staple for so long! ๐Ÿค• Those journalists who've spent years building relationships with officials have given us some incredible stories over the decades. David Martin is a legend and his commitment to telling valiant tales of courage on the battlefield will be missed ๐Ÿ’ช. It's a shame that some major news orgs couldn't agree on new press requirements, but I'm proud of those who stood up for press freedom ๐Ÿ“ฐ๐Ÿ’ฅ

omg I just got back from the most amazing road trip with my friends ๐Ÿš—๐ŸŒ„ we drove like 8 hours to this tiny beach town and it was literally paradise ๐Ÿ˜Ž the sunset was insane and we ended up having a bonfire on the beach under the stars ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ I swear it felt like we were in our own little world. anyway back to CBS News... I feel so bad for all those journalists who are losing their passes ๐Ÿค— they've worked so hard to get that access to the Pentagon and now it's being taken away from them ๐Ÿ˜” does anyone know if any other networks will be affected by this new policy? ๐Ÿค”
