Cheryl Hines admits leaving Hollywood for Washington, DC with RFK Jr. was ‘scary’

Hollywood star Cheryl Hines has revealed that leaving her glamorous life in Tinseltown for a career in politics in Washington, D.C. alongside her husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr., was "scary". The 56-year-old actress, best known for her role as Larry David's on-screen wife on HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm", made the move to join her husband in his presidential campaign.

According to Hines, the transition from Hollywood to D.C. felt like starting over at 35 and was initially daunting. However, she quickly found her footing in the nation's capital surrounded by fascinating people and smart individuals who were supportive of her and her husband's endeavors.

"I'm just learning a lot... It's an energy boost to my life," Hines said with a laugh. The actress has been married to Kennedy since 2014 and has spoken publicly about the challenges she faced as his wife during his presidential campaign, including facing backlash from some in the entertainment industry who were not supportive of their relationship.

Despite the initial shock and mixed reactions from Hollywood, Hines found solace in the strong friendships that emerged during this time. "I'm just surrounded by fascinating people, smart people, interesting people... I'm learning a lot," she said. The actress has also credited her husband for being a source of strength and support during this transition.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Hines opened up about the challenges and surprises of supporting her husband's political career in Washington, D.C., including how many people from across the political spectrum reached out to offer their support. The actress has also spoken candidly about the intense spotlight she faced during her husband's presidential campaign, including safety concerns for herself and others.

Hines' upcoming memoir "Unscripted" is set to be released on November 11. In it, she shares intimate details of her journey from bartending in Los Angeles to earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well as her experiences with love, loss, and finding her voice.

I love how she says its been an "energy boost" to her life though 😊. I guess that's true for some people who are used to the fast pace of Hollywood. It sounds like her husband has been super supportive too, which is awesome 💕. But at the same time, I'm curious to know more about how she handles all the scrutiny and backlash 🤔.

Also, I think its interesting that she's writing a memoir about it all... "Unscripted" or whatever 😂. I hope it's a good read! Maybe we'll learn more about what it's really like being in her shoes 💁‍♀️.

🤔 I'm kinda impressed by Cheryl Hines' courage in leaving her A-list life for politics. It's like she took a deep breath and said 'you know what, I've got this'. I can relate to feeling out of my depth, especially when the spotlight's on you all the time. It's great that she found solace in the friends she made along the way - it's not always easy to find people who understand what you're going through. And 56 is a pretty young age to be starting over, so props to her for being proactive and taking control of her life. Ugh, this is gonna be a long shot... I mean, Cheryl Hines leaving Hollywood for politics? Yeah right 🤣. It's like she's trying to escape her own ego or something. And marrying RFK Jr.? That guy's got some serious baggage 😒. But hey, if she wants to pretend she's all about the 'public service' thing, more power to her I guess 👊. Just don't expect me to be too invested in her 'journey of self-discovery' or whatever it is she's doing now 🙄.

I think its awesome that Cheryl Hines is taking control of her life and pursuing her passion for politics alongside Robert F. Kennedy Jr. 🙌 The fact that she's embracing a new role and learning so much from the experience is really inspiring, especially at 56! 💖 I'm sure its not been easy, but shes got her husband by her side to support her through thick and thin ❤️. And who knows, maybe this new chapter will be even more fulfilling than her acting career 🤞. Her story is a great reminder that its never too late to make a change and pursue your dreams 💪

I gotta say, I'm really inspired by Cheryl Hines' story 🤯. She's like, totally proof that you're never too old or out of touch to make a big change in your life. And it's not just about the career transition, but also how she navigated the challenges with her husband's political campaign 💕. I mean, can you imagine being in the public eye and having people judge your relationship? It takes a lot of courage to keep going and find support in unexpected places 🌈.

For me, Cheryl's story is all about resilience and adaptability. She didn't let fear hold her back, and she found a new sense of purpose in D.C. that energized her life 💪. And I think we can all learn from that 😊. Whether it's making a big career change or navigating an unexpected situation, having the right mindset and support can make all the difference 🌟.
