Hollywood star Cheryl Hines has revealed that leaving her glamorous life in Tinseltown for a career in politics in Washington, D.C. alongside her husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr., was "scary". The 56-year-old actress, best known for her role as Larry David's on-screen wife on HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm", made the move to join her husband in his presidential campaign.
According to Hines, the transition from Hollywood to D.C. felt like starting over at 35 and was initially daunting. However, she quickly found her footing in the nation's capital surrounded by fascinating people and smart individuals who were supportive of her and her husband's endeavors.
"I'm just learning a lot... It's an energy boost to my life," Hines said with a laugh. The actress has been married to Kennedy since 2014 and has spoken publicly about the challenges she faced as his wife during his presidential campaign, including facing backlash from some in the entertainment industry who were not supportive of their relationship.
Despite the initial shock and mixed reactions from Hollywood, Hines found solace in the strong friendships that emerged during this time. "I'm just surrounded by fascinating people, smart people, interesting people... I'm learning a lot," she said. The actress has also credited her husband for being a source of strength and support during this transition.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Hines opened up about the challenges and surprises of supporting her husband's political career in Washington, D.C., including how many people from across the political spectrum reached out to offer their support. The actress has also spoken candidly about the intense spotlight she faced during her husband's presidential campaign, including safety concerns for herself and others.
Hines' upcoming memoir "Unscripted" is set to be released on November 11. In it, she shares intimate details of her journey from bartending in Los Angeles to earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well as her experiences with love, loss, and finding her voice.

Maybe we'll learn more about what it's really like being in her shoes As someone who's been in the entertainment industry for years, she must have had to deal with some tough scrutiny herself. It takes courage to leave behind the glamour of Hollywood and start anew in D.C. I'm glad to hear that she's found a supportive community and is learning so much from her experiences.
