I'm not sure I fully trust this agreement just yet
. On one hand, it's about time the Colombian government took a different approach to tackling the EGC and other groups - years of brutal conflict have done nothing but harm to the country and its people
. The idea of disarmament and demobilization is a good start, but what about those who can't be 're-integrated' back into society? What about the families of those involved in the conflict? Those guys are still gonna be out there on the streets, looking for an outlet... and I'm worried that this might just create more problems down the line 
But at the same time, I do think it's a step in the right direction. The EGC has been responsible for so much suffering and violence - if they can lay down their arms and start working with the government, maybe we can finally see some real progress
. And let's not forget that this deal also gives Colombia the chance to show that it's willing to work with its former enemies... it could be a major morale-booster for the country
