Could the internet go offline? Inside the fragile system holding the modern world together

I'm getting really anxious thinking about what would happen if the internet just... stopped 🤯. I mean, can you imagine not being able to check your email or scroll through social media? It's like life without breathing, right? 🙅‍♂️ But seriously, it's also kinda scary to think about how our entire world could come crashing down if something went wrong with the internet. Like, what if a huge storm took out all the data centers or something? Or even just one person messing up some code and causing a chain reaction of disasters? 😱 It's a bit unsettling to think that we're so dependent on this thing that it could literally take us down. But at the same time, I guess there's some hope in the fact that decentralized networks like Mastodon might be able to keep things running... sorta 💻

🤯 think its crazy to rely this much on one big system 🌐. we need to diversify our tech infrastructure, you know? decentralized networks are cool and all, but they're not gonna save us from a major freakout 🚨. need to start thinking about backup plans, like redundant systems and whatnot. dont wanna be stuck in the dark when the internet goes down 💡
