DAVID MARCUS: New Yorkers tell me election 'is what it is'

I gotta say, it's kinda concerning that people are being so blasé about this election 🤔. I mean, free buses? It's not that hard to understand why it'd be a good idea, especially if your bosses aren't exactly invested in the community 🤑. And what's up with Curtis Sliwa, anyway? He's been making some pretty divisive statements lately...not sure if he's really the best fit for NYC 🚽.

I've lived here my whole life and I know a lot of people who are just plain confused about Cuomo vs de Blasio 😕. It's like, they're not even bothering to research or engage with the issues anymore. And don't even get me started on the lack of community excitement for Zohran Mamdani 🤷‍♀️.

I mean, I'm all for staying informed and critical, but it's disheartening to see people throwing in the towel so easily 😔. Where's the passion? The engagement? It's like we're just going through the motions here 🕒. We need more than apathy to make a change happen 💪!

People often say that 'the truth is rarely pure and never simple'. In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in the monotony of daily life and forget about the importance of civic engagement 🙄🗳️. It's concerning to see a high percentage of New Yorkers exhibiting apathy towards their municipal election - after all, 'elections are won for the people by the people' 👥. Perhaps we need to reevaluate our priorities as a society and recognize that every voice matters, no matter how small 🗣️.

I'm not loving this vibe from New York City voters 🤔🚫. It's like they're stuck on autopilot, ya know? They're more concerned about their daily grind than actually caring about the people running the city 📈. Al's comment about Zohran Mamdani's proposal being "stupid" because his bosses care more about money is SO relatable lol. And don't even get me started on Cindy and Denise thinking Cuomo's chances won't matter no matter what 🤷‍♀️. But at the same time, I'm kinda glad to see Naveed getting hyped for Zohran – it's like he's keeping the flame alive for his community 💪. And Steve and Suzanne's skeptical views on Cuomo just show how disconnected people can be from reality 😒. It's a mixed bag, but one thing's for sure: complacency is no good in politics 🚫💔
