Davos 2026: the last-chance saloon to save the old world order?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole Davos thing 🤔. I mean, it's crazy that someone like Trump would show up, given what we know about his...let's just say, "style" of governance 😂. But at the same time, I think it's a great opportunity for him (and others) to engage with people from different walks of life and see things from a different perspective.

Klaus Schwab stepping down from the board is a bit weird, but I guess that's what happens when you've been around as long as he has. And I'm glad to hear that Danny Sriskandarajah and Jamie Drummond are speaking out – their experiences sound really insightful.

One thing that really struck me was how much the WEF seems to be about bringing people together, even if they don't always agree 🤝. It's like a big exercise in listening and trying to find common ground. Not always easy, but that's what we need more of these days – I think.

I'm intrigued by the juxtaposition of President Trump attending the World Economic Forum (WEF) despite the organization's stated commitment to global cooperation 🤔. It seems like a contradictory gesture, especially given the WEF's focus on addressing pressing issues like climate change and economic inequality.

The departure of Klaus Schwab from the board raises interesting questions about accountability and transparency within the organization 😐. While it's good that he won't be present at this year's meeting due to a new book release, it's concerning that he may have faced allegations of misconduct without facing more severe consequences.

I think what's most notable about the WEF is its ability to bring together people from different backgrounds and perspectives on complex issues 🌎. The interviews with Danny Sriskandarajah and Jamie Drummond offer valuable insights into the organization's impact over the years and highlight the need for nuanced discussions around global governance.

What do you think about the role of the WEF in promoting global cooperation? Should it be a platform for leaders to engage on critical issues or is it too elitist? 🤝
