Trump's White House Sinks to New Low with 'Deplorables' Parody
Karoline Leavitt, the chief spokesperson for President Donald Trump, took it upon herself to take the Democrats to task in a recent interview on Fox News. She carelessly suggested that the Democratic Party's core supporters are comprised of Hamas terrorists, undocumented immigrants, and violent felons.
Leavitt's remarks seem to be an exercise in hypocrisy, coming as they do from someone who has spent her career peddling conspiracy theories about Democrats and their supposed love of violence and crime. The White House press secretary's baseless claims echo the kind of inflammatory rhetoric that Trump himself has been known to unleash upon his opponents.
It's worth noting that Leavitt's own party was previously criticized for its use of similar language when Hillary Clinton referred to some Trump supporters as part of a "basket of deplorables" back in 2016. The media at the time largely sided with Republicans, labeling Clinton's comments as too harsh and unfair.
However, the tables seem to have turned now that someone on Trump's team is peddling such hateful rhetoric. Congressional Democrats are speaking out against Leavitt's remarks, calling for her resignation. Rep.
