Israel's Military Campaigns Continue Amid Ceasefire, Worrying Neighbors and Critics Alike
Despite a recent ceasefire agreement in Gaza, Israeli forces have continued to launch attacks on neighboring countries, fueling concerns about their intentions. The fragile peace holds in some areas, but the situation remains dire for Palestinians in occupied territories.
In the occupied West Bank, over 1,000 Palestinians have been killed since October 7th, with the military intensifying efforts to annex the territory. Settlers and soldiers have also been harassing and arresting Palestinian farmers trying to harvest their olives. The Israeli government has urged US President Donald Trump to support the West Bank's annexation, calling for "sovereignty" over the disputed land.
In Syria, Israel has maintained a steady stream of incursions into Syrian territory along its southern border, including reconnaissance flights, ground infiltration, and checkpoints. The military actions have been met with criticism from Syria's UN representative, Ibrahim Olabi, who condemned the practices as violating the 1974 Disengagement Agreement between Syria and Israel.
In Lebanon, Israel has continued to violate the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah, with heavy bombing in southern regions. On Monday, a UN peacekeeping force shot down an Israeli drone that had dropped a grenade near a patrol, prompting an Israeli tank attack on peacekeepers. Meanwhile, two people were killed by Israeli forces in southern Lebanon.
The situation in Gaza remains dire, despite the ceasefire agreement. Israel has continued to launch strikes across the territory, killing one person and injuring four others in a recent attack. The medical infrastructure was destroyed by Israel, leaving many Palestinians struggling to access treatment. A woman named Rasha Abu Sbeaka is still waiting for permission from Israel to leave Gaza for medical treatment due to her stage-three cancer.
The US administration's efforts to broker peace seem undermined by the continued violence and occupation. Critics argue that the administration's focus on supporting Israel's interests has come at the expense of Palestinian rights and regional stability. The situation remains volatile, with many fearing a return to last year's violence in Lebanon.

You know, like with Rasha Abu Sbeaka and her cancer... that's really sad. It feels so unfair that she can't even get medical help because of some military conflict. And what about all those Palestinians in the West Bank? They're getting killed over there too... it just doesn't seem right.

And what's with all these checkpoints and soldiers everywhere? It seems like they're just causing more problems than they solve.

I mean, you'd think with a ceasefire agreement in place, things would calm down a bit but nope, Israel just keeps on keeping on with these military campaigns
I mean, you'd think with a ceasefire agreement in place, things would calm down a bit but nope, Israel just keeps on keeping on with these military campaigns . It's like they're trying to drive Palestinians crazy over there. And the US is all like "yeah, we got this"

I mean, I get that Israel has a right to defend itself and all, but come on, can't they find a way to coexist with Palestinians? It's just so sad for those people trapped in Gaza and the West Bank...

It feels like nobody's listening to each other. I'm worried that we're going to end up with a huge mess on our hands.

. I'm getting so worried about all these innocent lives being lost in the conflict. 1,000 Palestinians in the West Bank already? It's just heartbreaking to think about all those families who have been torn apart by this ongoing violence.
