Dozens of people have been arrested in Minneapolis during a protest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after the death of a woman who was shot by an ICE agent. Thousands attended the "ICE out of Minnesota" rally and march, which started in Powderhorn Park on Saturday.

The Trump administration said Ross acted in self-defence, claiming Good had attempted to run over the officer with her vehicle. However, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey described her actions as trying to do a three-point turn to escape the scene.
Frey also expressed his frustration that local law enforcement were "outnumbered by the number of ICE agents and beyond", while also condemning those who damage property or put others in harm's way during the protests. A total of 30 people have been arrested, with one police officer suffering minor injuries after being targeted by protesters.

. The mayor is trying to keep everyone calm, but it's hard when you feel like your rights are being violated. The fact that 30 people have been arrested and a police officer got hurt just shows how tense things are getting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the FBI will get to the bottom of what happened and that we can start to move forward with some answers

That's a lot of people losing their freedom for something that could've been avoided if they weren't so scared or aggressive

It's a pretty convenient excuse for a veteran agent to shoot someone, you know? And then we got this whole thing with Renee Nicole Good trying to make a three-point turn... sounds like a classic "false flag" operation to me 
. I'm not saying the mayor or anyone else is lying, but come on, folks! We need to dig deeper here

. But at the same time, I can see why people would be angry about ICE being in their city and not respecting community policing principles. We need more transparency and accountability from our law enforcement and government officials

. Meanwhile, people are losing their lives (Renee Good) or getting arrested at protests 
. It's like we're just stuck in this cycle of "look at us, we're so outraged!" when really, not much is changing 
. Can't we find a way to resolve these issues without resorting to violence or arrests? We need more dialogue and understanding between our communities, not less 
no matter how you spin it, Renee Good was just trying to get away from the situation and this is how she ends up dying. Minneapolis mayor frey sounds like he's being totally reasonable though, all these police and ice agents showing up at the same time is wild - it's not surprising that people are getting hurt
it's like nobody knows what happened for sure. and why did local cops have to deal with all those protesters in the first place? shouldn't they be focusing on keeping everyone safe instead of getting caught up in the middle of this whole thing? 
The fact that it happened because of a misunderstanding like that makes me wanna scream 
. And now we've got these protests and arrests and everyone's getting all worked up... it feels like we're just stuck in this cycle of hurt and anger 
. And then there are people getting hurt, whether it's from the protesters or the police or whatever
