Dozens arrested and one police officer injured in Minneapolis ICE protests

Dozens of people have been arrested in Minneapolis during a protest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after the death of a woman who was shot by an ICE agent. Thousands attended the "ICE out of Minnesota" rally and march, which started in Powderhorn Park on Saturday.

The protests come after 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good was shot in her car on Wednesday by Jonathan Ross, a veteran ICE agent. The Trump administration said Ross acted in self-defence, claiming Good had attempted to run over the officer with her vehicle. However, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey described her actions as trying to do a three-point turn to escape the scene.

Frey also expressed his frustration that local law enforcement were "outnumbered by the number of ICE agents and beyond", while also condemning those who damage property or put others in harm's way during the protests. A total of 30 people have been arrested, with one police officer suffering minor injuries after being targeted by protesters.

The incident has exposed a deep-seated political division, with both sides accusing the other of using inflammatory rhetoric. The FBI is investigating the shooting, and local officials are planning to open an inquiry into the matter.

As tensions continue to rise in Minneapolis, protests are also expected in major US cities on Sunday. The movement against ICE is gaining momentum, with thousands taking part in rallies across the country, including Austin, Seattle, New York, and Los Angeles.

I'm so worried about what's going down in Minneapolis. It's heartbreaking that Renee Nicole Good lost her life to an ICE agent, and now people are protesting against them. I don't think it's right that local law enforcement were outnumbered by the number of ICE agents at the scene ๐Ÿค•. The mayor is trying to keep everyone calm, but it's hard when you feel like your rights are being violated. The fact that 30 people have been arrested and a police officer got hurt just shows how tense things are getting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the FBI will get to the bottom of what happened and that we can start to move forward with some answers ๐Ÿคž.

Man I'm so worried about this ICE thing ๐Ÿค•. It's crazy that some people think it's okay to shoot someone just because they're trying to escape a situation. A three-point turn isn't gonna kill anyone! And now there are all these protests and arrests... it's just so sad ๐Ÿ˜”. Can we please just talk about this stuff without getting too heated? I feel like both sides are being super unfair ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. We need to figure out what's going on with ICE and how we can make sure something like this never happens again ๐Ÿ™.

Man, I'm so not surprised by this ๐Ÿ˜’. It's like, we're already living in a dystopian movie where cops and immigration agents are basically the same thing. Can't believe the Trump admin is trying to spin this as self-defense though ๐Ÿ™„. The fact that they got away with it is just wild. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey sounds like someone who knows what's going on, at least he's not sugarcoating anything. But still, 30 people arrested? That's a lot of people losing their freedom for something that could've been avoided if they weren't so scared or aggressive ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I'm all for protesting and speaking out, but some of these protests can get pretty out of hand. I just wish both sides could calm down and have a real conversation about this stuff instead of resorting to violence ๐Ÿ˜•.

๐Ÿšจ I'm telling you, something fishy went down here ๐ŸŸ. Like, how do we know the "self-defence" story from Jonathan Ross is true? ๐Ÿค” It's a pretty convenient excuse for a veteran agent to shoot someone, you know? And then we got this whole thing with Renee Nicole Good trying to make a three-point turn... sounds like a classic "false flag" operation to me ๐Ÿ˜. I'm not saying the mayor or anyone else is lying, but come on, folks! We need to dig deeper here ๐ŸฆŠ. What's really going down in Minneapolis?

I'm really concerned about what's going down in Minneapolis ๐Ÿค•. 30 people arrested, one cop hurt... it's all just so scary ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. I don't blame the protesters for being upset - that woman was shot by an ICE agent and it sounds like her actions were completely justified, you know? The fact that they're claiming she tried to run over the officer is wild ๐Ÿคฏ. And now everyone's accusing each other of using inflammatory rhetoric... it's just so much drama ๐Ÿ’”. But at the same time, I can see why people would be angry about ICE being in their city and not respecting community policing principles. We need more transparency and accountability from our law enforcement and government officials ๐Ÿค. The fact that thousands are taking part in rallies across the country is amazing, though - it's like there's finally a sense of unity among people who care about justice ๐Ÿ‘ฅ.

I'm seeing a lot of anger and frustration on my feeds today ๐Ÿคฏ. This ICE agent shooting has brought out some serious emotions, but let's be real, we all know how this story is gonna play out - it'll get watered down in the media and a resolution will magically appear ๐Ÿ’ธ. Meanwhile, people are losing their lives (Renee Good) or getting arrested at protests ๐Ÿš”. It's like we're just stuck in this cycle of "look at us, we're so outraged!" when really, not much is changing ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. The real question is, what can we do to create actual change instead of just shouting into the void? ๐Ÿค”

Umm I think it's actually kinda cool that this woman was shot by an ICE agent... like what if she really did try to run someone over? ๐Ÿค” It's not like we're just making excuses for a bad cop or anything. And can we talk about how ridiculous it is that Minneapolis Mayor Frey is complaining about local law enforcement being outnumbered by ICE agents? That's just the problem, folks! We need more transparency and accountability from both sides... not less ๐Ÿšจ

this is getting out of hand - all these ppl protesting ICE, I get it, the woman's death was senseless... but 30 arrests already? that's crazy ๐Ÿคฏ like what's next, rioting? I don't condone violence at all, but can't we have a more peaceful discussion about this stuff? I'm not saying we should let ICE off scot-free, but let's try to find some common ground, ya know?

man this whole thing is just so messed up ๐Ÿค•. I'm all for people standing up for what they believe in, but when it comes to Renee's death, we gotta be careful about what we're saying and doing. We need to make sure our message isn't getting lost in the chaos. I mean, we can't just dismiss the fact that an ICE agent was involved and claim self-defense without even hearing both sides of the story ๐Ÿค”.

And yeah, the police response is super concerning too - 30 people arrested? That's a lot of unnecessary force being used against peaceful protesters ๐Ÿ’ช. Can't we find a way to resolve these issues without resorting to violence or arrests? We need more dialogue and understanding between our communities, not less ๐Ÿค.

But at the same time, I'm all for calling out ICE for their horrible policies and treatment of immigrants - they're literally human beings, people! ๐Ÿ‘ฅ We need to be standing up against that systemic oppression and demanding change. It's just a shame it had to come to this... ๐Ÿ˜”

๐ŸšจICE arrests spark outrage in Minnesota ๐Ÿšจ

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole thing... Renee Nicole Good was just a 37-year-old woman who got shot by an ICE agent in her own car! The fact that she was trying to do a three-point turn and escape the scene is wild. It's like, what were they even thinking?! ๐Ÿคฏ

And now people are protesting in the streets, demanding ICE leave Minnesota... I get it, we need to talk about immigration reform and how it affects our communities. But this whole thing feels really volatile. Like, some people are super passionate on both sides of the argument, which is making it hard to have a calm conversation.

I'm all for standing up for what you believe in, but let's try not to hurt each other in the process, you know? We need to find a way to work together and make real change. This whole situation just feels so... messy ๐Ÿคฏ

just saw this thread from like yesterday lol what's going on with these protesters they're right to be angry tho - an iced agent shoots a woman in her car and gets away with it? that's messed up ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ no matter how you spin it, Renee Good was just trying to get away from the situation and this is how she ends up dying. Minneapolis mayor frey sounds like he's being totally reasonable though, all these police and ice agents showing up at the same time is wild - it's not surprising that people are getting hurt

man this whole thing is so messed up ๐Ÿค•, like what even is happening with these protests? people are getting arrested for just showing up to stand against ICE, it's not like they're doing anything violent... but at the same time, if an ice agent really did shoot that woman in self defense then shouldn't we be taking them seriously too? ๐Ÿค” and I'm so confused by all the conflicting stories - was she trying to run over the agent or just do a 3-point turn?! ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’จ it's like nobody knows what happened for sure. and why did local cops have to deal with all those protesters in the first place? shouldn't they be focusing on keeping everyone safe instead of getting caught up in the middle of this whole thing? ๐Ÿ˜•

I'm not surprised to see another protest erupting over a tragic incident. It's just another example of how easily things can get out of hand when emotions run high. I mean, what's next? Will we be protesting against the postal service because someone got hurt trying to mail a package? ๐Ÿ“จ๐Ÿ˜’

And let's not forget, all this is happening on the back of social media, where people can spread misinformation and fueling the fire without any accountability. It's like we're living in a real-life video game, where everyone gets to be the hero or villain.

I'm not saying that Renee Good didn't do anything wrong, but come on, guys! Let's not jump to conclusions just yet. The FBI is investigating, and let's wait for the facts before we start calling for heads to roll. ๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿ‘ฎ

Man, this whole thing is just so messed up ๐Ÿค•... I mean, Renee Good's death was really senseless, right? ๐Ÿšซ The fact that it happened because of a misunderstanding like that makes me wanna scream ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. And now we've got these protests and arrests and everyone's getting all worked up... it feels like we're just stuck in this cycle of hurt and anger ๐Ÿ’”.

I don't know about you guys, but I think we need to find a way to calm down and have some real conversations about what's going on ๐Ÿค. The fact that the Trump admin is saying one thing and the mayor is saying another... it's like we're living in a bad soap opera ๐Ÿ˜ณ. And then there are people getting hurt, whether it's from the protesters or the police or whatever ๐Ÿš‘.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that we need to find some common ground here ๐Ÿ‘Œ. We can't just keep blaming each other and expecting things to get better on their own ๐Ÿ’ช. We gotta come together and figure out a way to make this work for everyone ๐Ÿค.

I donโ€™t usually comment but... this whole situation with Renee Nicole Good's death is really messed up ๐Ÿค•. I mean, an ICE agent shoots a woman who's just trying to get away from the scene after he allegedly attacked her, and now his colleagues are basically taking over the streets? It's like, what even is going on here? ๐Ÿคฏ The fact that local law enforcement can't even keep up with the situation is alarming. I donโ€™t think itโ€™s fair to blame all protesters for getting arrested or causing a scene when some people might be genuinely trying to make a point about ICE being super problematic. And what's with the FBI investigation and all? It feels like we're just getting more info as it comes out, but honestly, I'm not sure if we'll ever really know the whole story ๐Ÿค”. One thing's for sure though โ€“ this is gonna keep on simmering for a while...

I was just thinking about that awesome new food truck festival in Chicago ๐Ÿด๐ŸŒฎ, you know, the one where they have all these crazy creative burgers? I tried this one with truffle aioli and it was LIFE.CHANGING ๐Ÿ˜ฒ. Anyway, back to Minneapolis... I feel bad for Renee Nicole Good's family, but at the same time, I'm kinda curious about that three-point turn thingy ๐Ÿค”. Like, is it really that hard to do a simple U-turn? And what's with all these ICE agents showing up in Minneapolis? It's like they're trying to make some kind of point... or just making a mess ๐Ÿšฎ๐Ÿ‘ฎ.
