Elon Musk’s Twitter promised a purge of blue check marks. Instead he singled out one account | CNN Business

🤔 I'm kinda split on this one... I get why Elon wants to cut down on "legacy" blue checks, but now it's all confusing 🙄. Like, if I wanna know who's legit and who's not, I need some clear guidelines 📊. This new label thingy just makes me wonder what's up with the verification system anyway... Wasn't it always supposed to be about notable individuals or something? 🤷‍♂️ Now it feels like anyone can get a blue check if they pay for Twitter Blue 💸. And, honestly, I'm not sure if this is gonna drive revenue for Musk or make users feel more secure 🤑. Either way, it's just another thing to keep me up at night 😬...

Wow! 🤯 I'm still trying to wrap my head around this new labeling system. It's crazy that Elon Musk is changing the game like this without warning. The fact that the New York Times' main account lost its blue check mark while others were grandfathered in is wild. I guess it's a good thing they kept their account, lol! 🙄 But seriously, how are users supposed to know who's legit and who's just paying for a feature? It's like they're making it easier for scammers to impersonate famous people. Interesting... 👀

🤯 so i'm low-key surprised that Elon just pulled a 180 on his plan to get rid of "legacy" blue checks 🚫👎 but now he's all about labeling those accounts like they're just paid subscribers 🤑📈 and honestly it's kinda shady 💁‍♀️ the new system is just gonna make it easier for scammers to impersonate legit users 🤦‍♂️ i mean what's next? paying to be verified? 😂 meanwhile william shatner and monica lewinsky are all about it 💯👍 but seriously, this change is just more proof that Elon's running Twitter like his own personal playground 🏰💪

🤔 I think Elon's move is pretty wild, you know? One sec they're all like "oh we gotta keep these legacy blue checks" and then next thing you know they're removing 'em and just labeling everyone who pays for Twitter Blue as verified too... it's like, what even is the point of that?! 🤷‍♂️ I mean, don't get me wrong, paying for a feature to avoid bots is a good idea and all but can't we just stick with verified accounts being, well verified?! 😬 This whole thing just feels like Musk's trying to stir up drama instead of fixing the actual problems on the platform 🚫
