FBI says woman threatened to murder agent and his family after stealing ID from car during Minneapolis riot

Federal authorities have arrested a woman who allegedly left threatening voicemails, targeting an FBI agent and his family over the agent's role in responding to a riot in Minneapolis last January.

Brenna Marie Doyle, 33, is accused of leaving three disturbing messages that threatened to kill an FBI officer, his wife, and child after she stole identification material from a car damaged during the riot, according to federal prosecutors. The FBI had responded to a reported assault on a federal officer on January 14 in Minneapolis.

The incident occurred as riots broke out following an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation. An ICE agent shot a Venezuelan national in the leg after agents were allegedly ambushed and attacked with a shovel.

Prosecutors say that Doyle targeted the FBI agent, intending to intimidate or retaliate against him for carrying out his official duties. She left the threatening voicemails knowing they would be perceived as threats across state lines, and authorities have since arrested her in connection with the January 14 incident.

can u believe this lady did that?! 🤯 i mean, stealing from a damaged car is bad enough, but to threaten someone's life and family? that's just crazy. it's like she thought she was above the law or something. the FBI's gotta do what they gotta do, but still... i feel for the officer and his family who have to deal with this kind of stuff. and what's with the timing? January 14th? that was a really rough time in Minneapolis. guess that just adds to the drama

ugh this is so messed up 🤯 like a woman stealing from someones car and then leaving threatening messages for their family? that's just low 🚫 she knew it would freak them out and cause them harm...and for what? to get back at an FBI agent who was doing his job? not cool, not cool at all 😒 this is the kinda thing that makes people wanna lose faith in law enforcement even more...anyway, hope she gets a proper sentence 🤞

I'm so worried about this woman's mental health... three threatening voicemails can't just be brushed off like that 🤕. It sounds like she was already pretty upset about what happened during the riots, but to take it out on an FBI agent and his family? That's a whole different level of anger management issues 💔.

I think we need to talk more about our justice system and how we handle situations like this. Is there support for people who feel this strongly that they want to lash out at law enforcement? We can't just lock someone up without exploring the underlying reasons for their behavior 🤝.

🤦‍♂️ Can you believe it? Threats like these are on the rise! 🚨 I mean, I get it, people are upset about things they think aren't right, but leaving voicemails that say you're gonna kill someone's family over some stolen ID is just crazy talk 😂. And what's even crazier is that she knew full well they'd be taken out of state and could cause a stir like this 🤯.

According to the FBI, there were over 1,300 arrests made during the ICE operation in January, with nearly 700 people charged with rioting-related crimes 🔒. It's crazy to think about how that must've escalated things.

stats on threats like these: Did you know that according to the National Institute of Justice, from 2018-2022, there were over 10,000 reported incidents of hate crimes in the US 🚔. And with the rise of social media, it's getting easier for people to spread their message... or hurtful words 🤖.

Here's a chart showing the growth rate of threats like these: [chart shows an increase from 2,400 to over 12,000 threats between 2020 and 2023 📈]. The FBI had more than 300,000 domestic extremist cases in 2022 alone 🔥!

OMG 🤯, this is soooo not good! I mean, what's next? People taking out their frustrations on law enforcement on social media? 🚫 It's like, we gotta stand behind our brave agents, you know? They're just doing their job, trying to keep us safe. But no, this lady gets all bent outta shape 'cause she feels like the system is against her... and now she tries to take it out on innocent families? No way! 🚫 We need to be careful about what we say online, people. You never know who's watching... or listening 📞. This whole situation just screams 'chaos' and 'unpredictability'. How can we trust the system when there are people like this running around? 🤔
