Former NFL Player Doug Martin Dies in Police Custody in California, Family Says Cause of Death Unconfirmed

A sudden and devastating end to a life cut short - former NFL running back Doug Martin has died at the age of 36 while in police custody in California. According to reports, Martin was involved in an alleged home break-in and a struggle with officers on Saturday before losing consciousness and being taken to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

😔 just heard about Doug Martin's passing and I'm totally shocked 💥 he was so young! 36 feels like yesterday 😱 and I remember watching him play for the Buccaneers all those years ago 🏈 it's crazy how life can change in a split second 🕰️ we're all still trying to wrap our heads around this tragic news 💔
 
man its such a shame he had so much potential cut short 36 years old is like, what even is that 🤯 anyway i think about all those yrs hes playing football and then u see him struggle with injuries & stuff and now he's gone it just feels unfair on his family and loved ones they must be totally devastated 😔

man, 36 is young, you know? can't believe he's gone 🤕 it's crazy how life can just take a turn like that. i'm glad the Raiders are speaking out and showing their respect for him - he definitely left his mark on the team. but four games for marijuana use in 2016 was pretty harsh, if u ask me... still, can't deny the talent he had on the field 🏈 gotta be tough on his family right now
 
Man, 36 is way too young... 😔 Doug Martin's life was already full of ups and downs - the highs of playing for the Bucs and making that Pro Bowl selection, but also dealing with those pesky injuries and the suspension. It's like, he was trying to get his life back on track after all that, and then this happens? 🤕 It's just heartbreaking.

🤕 what's up with police custody? I mean, I'm all for justice and accountability, but is it necessary to be taken down while they're trying to take someone in? It just seems like a big mess 🙄. And 36 years old is way too young to go out like that 💔. Doug Martin had so much potential, it's sad to think about what could've been if he didn't struggle with those injuries and stuff. I'm sure his family is still in shock 😔.
 
man 😔 that's such bad news about Doug Martin he was always so full of energy on the field, you'd never think a guy like him would just...like, stop living 💔 i mean yeah we know he had his demons and all but still 36 is way too young to go out like that 🤕 my thoughts are with his family right now they're gonna be hurting so much from this 😭 anyway it's just crazy how fast life can take a turn for the worst, one minute you're living your best life as an NFL star and the next...rip Doug Martin 🚫💔
