I'm surprised by all the fuss over Marlene Schiappa's Playboy cover
. I mean, she's a powerful woman doing important work for women's rights and LGBT+ issues. Shouldn't we be supporting her instead of tearing her down?
The hypocrisy angle is what really gets my goat - if she's fighting for women's freedom, shouldn't she be able to express herself freely too?
It's also weird that people are focusing on the cover instead of her actual achievements. I mean, have you seen the new law against street harassment? That's some serious change-making right there
. Schiappa's not perfect, but she's trying to make a difference and we should be celebrating that
.
And can we talk about how ridiculous it is for politicians to question whether someone's use of resources was "appropriate"? Like, come on guys - we've got more important issues to deal with than who's wearing what
. Schiappa's a trailblazer and we should be supporting her, not criticizing her for trying to break some glass ceilings
.
