Full interview: Polish Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski

Poland's Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski sat down with CBS News' Olivia Gazis to discuss the implications of President Trump's push for Greenland, NATO's role in European security, and the relationship between Poland and the US.

According to Sikorski, Poland is deeply concerned about the US withdrawal from various international agreements, including the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. He believes that this decision sends a wrong signal to our allies and undermines the stability of the region.

On the topic of Greenland, Sikorski sees it as a strategic location for NATO's future expansion. The Polish deputy prime minister emphasized that the US is not acting alone in its efforts to strengthen NATO, but rather working closely with other European countries.

In terms of NATO's role in European security, Sikorski believes that it is an essential instrument for maintaining stability and ensuring collective defense among member states. He also pointed out that Poland has a long history of cooperation with the US on various security issues.

When asked about his relationship with President Trump, Sikorski described him as unpredictable and sometimes difficult to work with. However, he maintained that despite their differences, they share common interests in promoting stability and security in Europe.

The Polish deputy prime minister also expressed concerns about the growing influence of Russia in Eastern Europe. He believes that it is essential for NATO to maintain a strong presence in the region and for European countries to work together to counter Russian aggression.

Overall, Sikorski's conversation with CBS News highlights the complexities of international relations and the challenges faced by Poland and other European countries in navigating the post-Cold War landscape.

OMG u no w how complicated int'l relashuns r 😂... so like, Radosław Sikorski is literally low-key worried about the US withdrawing from all these treaties 🤦‍♂️. Like, what's next? Poland is def concerned 'bout this 'cause it sends a bad msg to their allies & makes the region unstable 🚨. And omg, Greenland is like, super strategic for NATO 2 expand 🌎! But like, they're not acting alone, Europe's got their backs 💪. Anyways, Sikorski thinks NATO's key 2 stability & collective defense 👊. They also gotta deal w/ Russia's influence in Eastern Europe 🚫, which is like, super annoying 🤬. But like, he still thinks they can work w/ Trump on security issues 😒. Poor guy seems like he's stuck w/ the unpredictable US prez 😩

just got this news about sikorski talkin' to cbs lol what's goin on w/ us withdrawal from treaties like nfta? i mean, i get it, politics is all about sendin signals but dude, we gotta be clear w/ our allies or every1s just gonna be like "what's good"? 😂💯 and on the topic of greenland, i'm lowkey surprised sikorski's not even talkin bout polish interests in that region 🤔👀

Man I'm just thinking, like Poland's got some legit concerns about the US withdrawal from treaties and stuff... it's not cool when one of your biggest allies is, you know, kinda pulling out 🤔. And Greenland, yeah, it's a big deal for NATO's expansion plans, but also kinda raises questions about what's gonna happen to those territories in the future? Like, is it just gonna be like, whoever gets there first, gets it? 🌍

And I'm with Radosław on this - Poland's got some serious history of working with the US on security stuff, so it's not like they're completely starting from scratch. But at the same time, you gotta acknowledge that the whole Russia thing is a major concern... it's like, how can NATO even hope to counter their aggression if they're not all on the same page? 🤝

meh, sounds like sikorski is just rehashing the same old concerns about us pulling out of agreements 🤦‍♂️, it's like he thinks we're gonna start a nuclear arms race or something. and what's with this "strategic location for NATO's future expansion" thing? like, have you seen the maps of europe? there are like 10 other countries that also think it's strategic 😒. and Russia being all aggressive in eastern europe is no surprise, they've always been a bit dodgy 🚫. but what's interesting is how sikorski tries to spin trumps unpredictability as a positive trait... like, really? "we share common interests" lol, more like we just wanna stay out of his hair 😂.

🤔 I think Sikorski's concerns about US withdrawal from agreements are valid but also a bit worrying? 🚨 I mean, what if it's a sign that the US is losing faith in NATO or wants to reevaluate its priorities? That would be bad news for countries like Poland that rely heavily on the alliance. 🤷‍♂️ At the same time, I get why he'd want to emphasize cooperation with other European countries - it's all about collective defense and whatnot. 💪 What do you guys think? Should we be worried about the US's actions or is this just a normal part of diplomatic back-and-forth? 🤔

🤔 The way Radosław Sikorski views Greenland as a strategic location for NATO expansion is pretty interesting. It makes sense that he'd want to strengthen NATO's presence in the region, especially considering the ongoing tensions with Russia 🇷🇺. I think it's also worth noting how the US withdrawal from international agreements like the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty is being perceived by other European countries. It's not just about the US doing its own thing; it's about sending a signal to allies that they're no longer reliable 🤝.

I agree with Sikorski that NATO plays a crucial role in maintaining stability and collective defense among member states. But at the same time, I think there's a need for European countries to take more ownership of their own security issues. It can't just be up to NATO to solve everything 😊. The Polish deputy prime minister's concerns about Russia's growing influence in Eastern Europe are valid, but I think we need to see more concrete actions from the international community to address this issue 💪.

One thing that strikes me is how different Sikorski's views on Trump are compared to what we'd expect. He describes Trump as "unpredictable" and sometimes difficult to work with, but he also mentions common interests in promoting stability and security in Europe 🤝. I think this highlights the complexities of international diplomacy – even when you disagree with someone, you still need to find ways to cooperate and achieve shared goals 🌟.

I'm loving how these big powers are talking turkey about their interests 🤝, especially on the Greenland thing - like, who wouldn't want a strategic location for NATO's future expansion? 🌍 It's all about finding common ground, right? And I gotta say, Sikorski seems like a pretty level-headed dude, even if Trump can be a bit of a wild card 😅. But hey, sharing common interests is what it's all about, and if that means working together on security issues, then let's make it happen! 💪

Greenspan is going to sell the whole continent to Russia as soon as Trump finishes his last drink 🍺💸. I mean, come on, a country that's only 800k sq km? Who needs all that land when you can have the whole of Europe's NATO dollars 💰👊. Sikorski thinks he's being clever by saying it's a strategic location for NATO's future expansion, but honestly, it's just a fancy way of saying "we need to keep Russia from taking over" 🤣. And let's be real, how hard is it for Trump to sell Greenland and make some cash while he's at it? It's not like we're talking about a country with actual people living there or anything 👀💸

🤯 I'm literally shaking my head over this whole Greenland thing 🌍️... like what even is the point of acquiring a giant ice cube? 🤷‍♂️ And don't even get me started on the implications for NATO, it's just so complicated 😩. I mean, Sikorski seems to be right though, we do need a strong presence in Eastern Europe to counter Russian aggression 💪... but at the same time, can't we just try to avoid conflict altogether? 🤞 It feels like we're just putting band-aids on bullet wounds and expecting them to heal overnight 💉. And what about Poland's concerns about the US withdrawal from international agreements? Like, isn't that a pretty big deal? 🤔 I guess what I'm trying to say is that this whole situation just feels so... uncertain 😬. Can we just get some clarity on what's going on here?! 🙄

omg u guys r u kidding me?? 🤯 President Trump thinks he can just withdraw from nuclear treaties like that?! 😱 it's so not cool to our allies, esp poland! 💔 i mean sikorski said it all - this is sending the WRONG SIGNALS 🚫 and undermining the stability of the region. what's next? is he gonna pull out of nato too? 🤯 NATO is literally the only thing holding us europeans back 😂. gotta keep those russians in check, fam! 💪

🤔 The fact that Trump is pushing for Greenland and it's being seen as a strategic location for NATO's future expansion... I mean, it's obvious why Poland would be interested in that 🌎️ but can we really trust the US on this one? They're already backing out of other international agreements. What's next? 🤷‍♂️

I think it's also interesting that Sikorski mentioned that he thinks Trump is unpredictable, and I'm like "yep, no kidding" 😒. It's always tough to work with someone who's not exactly known for being steady or diplomatic.

And can we talk about how Poland is still super close with the US on security issues? That's great, but at the same time, it feels like they're caught between a rock and a hard place 🤯. They need to support their own country while also keeping up with what the US wants.

I'm kinda worried about Russia's influence in Eastern Europe, tbh 🚨. It's like, we get it, you guys are trying to expand your power, but can't we all just get along? 🙄

🤔 The thread about Poland's Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski's convo with CBS News is giving me some mixed feels... on one hand, it's awesome to see a high-level diplomat sharing his thoughts on NATO and European security - like, who doesn't want stability and collective defense? 🤝 But at the same time, I'm kinda worried about the US withdrawal from international agreements... it feels like they're just creating more problems than solutions 💔. And can we talk about how unpredictable President Trump is? 😬 Like, one minute he's working with you, the next minute he's totally ghosting you 🚫. Anyways, I think what really stands out here is Poland's concerns about Russia's growing influence in Eastern Europe - like, yeah let's get to work on that! 💪

omg i just learned about Greenland 🌎😮 like who knew it was even a thing? anyway back to poland and the US radosław sikorski seems like such a chill guy but also kinda worried all the time 😅 did he have any idea that the US was gonna pull out of those nuclear force treaties tho? 🤔 i mean shouldn't they be, like super careful about stuff like that? 🙏

💬 so i think sikorski's views on nato's role are pretty spot on - it's like, we need some kind of security umbrella to keep us safe from russia's aggression 🌎 but at the same time, i'm not sure if nato should just be a military alliance or also include economic cooperation? 🤔 and can we talk about how this whole greenland thing is being played out? it feels like the US is trying to flex its muscles again ⚔️ but what's the real strategy behind that? 💡

I feel like Poland is getting a bit caught in between the US and Russia right now 🤔. One minute it's all about strengthening NATO, and the next they're dealing with uncertainty around Greenland 🌎. It's like, can we just get some clarity on what's going on? 😩 But at the same time, I get why Sikorski is trying to play both sides - it's all about stability and security in Europe 💪. And let's be real, Russia's influence in Eastern Europe is a big concern for anyone who cares about peace 🙏. So, I'm rooting for Poland (and NATO) to stay strong and work together with their European partners to counter any aggression 👊. We just gotta hope that all this international drama doesn't affect the everyday people living in these countries 🤞.

I think it's kinda weird that everyone's making a big deal about the US pulling out of some treaties... I mean, come on, we've been living in a world with nuclear threats for decades now. It's not like this is gonna be the end of the world. NATO's still got our backs, and if Russia starts getting too aggressive, it'll be back to business as usual anyway. And let's be real, Trump might be unpredictable, but at least he's trying to shake things up and make some noise about European security. People need to chill out a bit and stop being so dramatic about it 🤷‍♂️

I MEAN, IT'S LIKE, REALLY INTERESTING TO SEE POLAND'S DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER TALK ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF NATO IN EUROPEAN SECURITY 🤝🌎. I THINK SIKORSKI IS RIGHT ON THE MONEY WHEN HE SAYS THAT THE US WITHDRAWAL FROM INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS IS A BIG DEAL AND COULD SEND THE WRONG SIGNAL TO ALLIES 😬.

AND YEAH, GREENLAND SEEMS LIKE A STRATEGIC LOCATION FOR NATO'S FUTURE EXPANSION, BUT WE NEED TO MAKE SURE WE'RE NOT JUST TALKING ABOUT IT WITHOUT ACTUALLY DOING ANYTHING 🤔. IT'S ALSO GOOD THAT Sikorski IS POINTING OUT THAT THE US ISN'T ACTING ALONE IN THIS EFFORT, THEY'RE WORKING WITH OTHER EUROPEAN COUNTRIES TOO 👊.

BUT WHAT REALLY GETS ME IS SIKORSKI'S Comments ABOUT RUSA AND THEIR INFLUENCE IN EASTERN EUROPE 🚨. IT'S LIKE, WE NEED TO BE VIGILANT ABOUT THAT STUFF AND MAKE SURE NATO IS MAINTAINING A STRONG PRESENCE IN THE REGION 💪. OVERALL, I THINK Sikorski'S CONVERSATION WITH CBS NEWS HIGHLIGHTS JUST HOW COMPLEX INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS CAN BE 🤯

I'm really worried about what's going on with Russia's influence in Eastern Europe 🤕. I mean, we all know that Poland has a bit of a history with Russia, but it feels like they're trying to make a comeback and it's making us all nervous 😬. I think NATO is doing its best to keep everyone safe, but it's hard when there are so many different interests at play 🤔.

I also feel like the US is being pretty inconsistent on some of these issues – one day we're working together, the next we're not 📉. It's like they're sending mixed signals and it's really confusing for us European countries to figure out what's going on 🌎.

But at the end of the day, I think we all want the same thing: peace and stability in Europe 💕. We just need to find a way to work together and support each other more effectively 💪.

OMG I'm totally feeling the concern from Radosław Sikorski 😩💔 about Poland and NATO's role in European security! Like, totally makes sense that withdrawing from agreements like the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty would send a wrong signal to allies 🤝🏻🚫. And omg can you even imagine if Russia took advantage of that? 🤯 Like, we need strong international cooperation and collective defense NOW 🌟💪! I'm also loving how Sikorski emphasized Poland's history of security cooperation with the US 🙌🇺🇸, it's so true! And lol about Trump being unpredictable 🤣, but like for real though, they do share common interests in Europe 🌍️. We need to support our leaders and NATO in this 🎉💪
