I think this whole thing is just another reminder that our words have power
. Marjorie Taylor Greene may have gotten a platform, but she also used it to spread hate and division
. The problem isn't just what she said, but how we listen to her and amplify her message. We need to be careful about who we give airtime to and whether their words are actually contributing to the good of society
.
It's like, if you're going to play a game with fire, you'd better be prepared to deal with the flames that come out of it
. That's what happened when 60 Minutes gave Greene a platform - they got burned
. Now we need to think about how we can create spaces for respectful conversation and nuanced discussion instead of just giving airtime to people who want to stir up controversy
.
We all have the power to choose what we listen to and watch, so let's use that power wisely
. Let's seek out information from trusted sources and engage in conversations that uplift and inspire each other
. That's how we build a more just and compassionate society for everyone
.
